It will help amatuer teams as well as just Wakey!

That is rubbish - you name the SL players both playing for Cas and other SL/NRL teams and I'll do the same. They must have played at least one SL game for you. Then we can blow that particular myth out of the water, becauase it is a total fabrication.
Go on if you dare - that's all players signed in the last ten years as Academy players or signed at 19 and under - go on I dare you

| I sense the 'race' to a new stadium may, for the timebeing at least, have swung in Wakey's favour and good luck to 'em because there is no other way to a renewed license for them. Despite recent comparitive success on the playing field their crowds remain unsatisfactory so a move from Belle Vue is a last throw of the dice attendance-wise.
Cas, on the other hand, can fill the Jungle with a half decent side (currently we're not even a quarter decent at home). While a new stadium is the ideal and would increase our commercial capacity I understand that as far as SL criteria are concerned the Jungle could be made compliant if we had to resort to a plan B.
As regards the proposed Newmarket site, at first glance one could be forgiven for thinking a shared venue is back on the cards; isn't it closer to where Cas RU reserves play than to where Wakey currently play?

Sorry, thought the proposed site was near the M62 where the pit used to be ie on the back road to Methley (old home of Castleford RUFC)

It is, but unlike Normanton which is 50/50 Stanley is Wakey - however it is as close to Cas as you can otherwise get.

Why, last years average was over 8000, how is that unsatisfactory it was about 1000 less than you. The peddling of myth continue

You mean they're about where we were two years ago: on the starting block?
Good news for them, after the fiasco of Thorpe Park, but let's not get over excited

I don't think it has yet. Oh I know all about "we're going to do this and that" - I've been hearing it from Cas for long enough - but at this point in time Wakey are still unclear as to funding, don't have planning permission and can't even give an impression of what it might look like. I think you undersell Cas' progress if you think an initial agreement on a bit of land near a motorway somehow rockets a club past where we are. Perhaps there's a bit more substance in the WE today? I don't know as it doesn't sell very well down here.
Quote: smoking monkey "and good luck to 'em because there is no other way to a renewed license for them. '"
Agreed, but I'd add that it's as true for Cas as it is for Wakey.

We've been to Belle Vue. We know why nobody wants to go there. ) but there's nothing overly sinister about Stanley.

you must be worried if we are going back to the whole attendance argument!!!
Imagine what our team will be like when we have bigger crowds and more money...........we are doing quite well at the moment with our 'crap' support!!!!
Cheers for your good wishes though!

Didn't realise there was an "attendance argument"
(i.e. what's there to argue about?)
We've both recently played the Bulls at home - check the figures - end of debate.
... oh, unless we move onto the hilarious recent CC game against a competitive NL1 side (Cas would get double that against an amateur side).
On the ground topic - fair play to you - at the moment there seems to be more happening than there is with us - but as already stated, you are approximately 2 years behind us - so anything we do before then is a bonus.

Also, if you care to read the previous posts it wasn't me that brought up attendances, it was Vastman. I merely pointed out that as usual his post was a fabrication.
