| Quote: Saville Row "Just a quick one chaps. Me and the missus visited Castleford for the first time in thirty years on Sunday to watch the Wolves. We live in London and drove up Sat night, no tickets, no hotel. We found a nice little place to stay near the town, then nipped to the ground Sunday morning to grab some tickets.
We then spent the morning having a look around the area, Xscape centre etc.
I have to say throughout the entire trip, without exception, everyone we met was warm, helpful, welcoming. The club staff sorted us out great seats, gave us a tour, couldn't do enough for us. Though we were sat in amongst all the Tigers fans, we heard no bad language, just good rugby league banter and wise comment. The whole atmosphere at the game was friendly and quiet a joy.
We had a superb experience in a surprisingly special place. I'll make sure we don't miss out the away game to Cas ever again!'"
It is massively appreciated comments like that, it's easy to find the inclination to moan and castigate, but much more difficult to find the urge to say when things were good.

| The burning smell would have been the fumes the Nestle factory next to the stadium produces.

| I suppose because I’ve been an exiled northerner living in London for over 30 years, I appreciate what a very special culture Rugby League has. In reality you can throw a coat over the rugby league heartland. Yesterday I witnessed and took part in an afternoon that represented the very best of that culture and felt strongly that I had to say something. Hopefully we’ll never lose it; we’d be so much poorer if we did.

Possibly the malt being roasted. It's one of the smells associated with castleford. There's a malt factory just up the road. I could smell it on and off during the day.

| What about the narrow-minded, bigoted idiots?
In all seriousness, it's great to hear some praise for our fans and I'm glad you had a fantastic time.

| Always enjoy my annual visit to Cas. Couple of beers in the pub opposite the Club Shop then straight into the ground. Good old fashioned RL stadium where you are almost on the pitch watching the game.

| Yes, I thought it was a great day out as well. It was a great atmosphere at the front with the face painting, sweet stall, ice cream van etc and the stewards were excellent. One even popped over to the turnstiles to get me an U20 team sheet.
Your MC was particularly good.
I do have a guilty secret though which I will have to own up to.... I enjoyed the cheerleaders so much I smuggled a couple out in my boot. Sorry about that.

The RFL should read comments like this and take it on board instead of forcing clubs, during the deepest recession the country has seen in a lot of years, into building shiny new grounds that don't have the same atmosphere as the old ones. Cas could then spend some of the money we get from having to sell our stars such as Rangi and Westeman on a decent squad that can compete and not having to bank the proceeds to pay for a souless stadium. Don't get me wrong I know to be able to eventually compete we need a better stadium and the corporate business it attracts but maybe it could wait until the economy recovers and the gates then will eventually increase. Or maybe I am being the usual cas sceptic and think that it is just because the RFL want rid of cas so the Bulls and London can survive at all costs!!!!
