We're coming to make some noise!: |
|
| Don't think there are too many Cas or HKR fans that will argue that it was two very poor teams in an abysmal excuse for a rugby league game!
Those complaining about decisions going against you, give it a rest! From a biased HKR point of view there were forward passes, high tackles and clear penalties that were not given against Castleford that would/could have lead to more HKR points!
From a more wider perspective, James Child was inconsistent and gave some calls one way and not the other which was rather strange! It wasn't however all one way and that was the only consistent thing about his officiating!!!

| we lost because we were shocking. simple. Hull KR were rubbish but we had to go one better and be worse. not blaming the ref as it was the same both ways. Our attack is just poor, we struggle with only having Rangi. Jamie Ellis is pants and I knew he wasnt going to be good enough from start of season.

| Result could have gone either way. Neither teams kicking game was up to scratch. One thing that doesn't help Cas is Rangi Chase's attitude. He will get red carded sooner or later. He got away with it at the KC on Lineham and again last night. If you see Burns try Rangi elbowed Travis in the face after he had grounded the ball and then again later in the game had to be told by Child to cut out the head shots after again trying to get a response from Burns with another head shot.

| It would help if your forwards bent their backs in defence - for the first 20 minutes, I don't think either Mason or Huby put a tackle in that wasn't round the shoulders/head; I thought you were lucky not to end up with a team warning and someone in the bin.
I'd also agree with Brian Carney's comments - if your only play-maker would put his energies into playing the game rather than sulking and hunting cheap shots, you'd turn some of these close defeats into wins; he's one of the few players in SL who can turn a game on his own, but his attitude is dreadful.
Not a game for the purist, but an enjoyable scrap in terrible conditions; credit to those of you who braved the conditions and made the trip over - hope you had your thermals on.

| I know it's early but is there any news on the Webster injury?
He was outstanding until he had to leave the pitch.

| Even as a Cas fan I thought the ref got about as much wrong for Hull KR as he did for us, -either way he was not up to the task.
I see lots of comments on here about the kicking game (Millward said the same on the BBC). While it was undoubtably rubbish, I would also say that it was just one of the basics that were poor...the handling errors were numerous and yet again the tackling was very poor.
After a drubbing at Hull and throwing away a lead last week, it does not seem that much is being done on the training pitch to address these fundamentally weak areas.

| I thought that we were going to do it after getting back from 10 points down but sadly it didn't happen. Hopefully we'll beat Wakefield on Friday night.

| Shame for Webster, on his day he's one of the best in the league. Trouble is, as if you don't already know, he misses more games than he makes. Nice bloke by all accounts though.

| Blaming the ref for a defeat is pathetic & embarrassing. There are numerous calls that can go either way in every game, one set of fans is going to be peeved by each one. Officials get 99% correct. Cas lost, as nearly every team does, because they weren't good enough. Too many penalties (probably the majority of tries these days follow in the next 6 after a penalty), too many basic errors, crap kicking game, wrong attitude from some players. I enjoyed the game, despite this, coming on here does sour things some what though.

| Tigertot, give yourself an uppercut. The majority of people on here accept KR were the better team & we lost due to not being good enough. Whenever a team loses by so few points, fans will naturally draw back to a decision that went against them and think, "what could have been" but by Cas fans standards (yep we do more often then not give refs stick) we accept KR deserved the win, purely on having a reasonable kicking game, something we can only dream of right now.

And in that one sentence your whole posting history is in tatters. By the powers of Sky+ I have the ball frozen on Dobson's toe as I type. Welham is approx 6 feet behind him. "Well done for Most Inaccurate post of the Season".
Apart from that, everything else you wrote was garbage as well. We were utter bobbins but still considerably better than Cas.

There is a huge difference between 'what could have been' & 'quite literally cost us the match'. Blaming the officials, usually with as much invective as possible, usually incorrectly, has infected all major sports, even the so called gentleman's sports. It is the most unpleasant part of our game.

Ha, ha.... If only you knew, mate.
Well done Gronk, that's 3 seasons on the bounce. Beers are on you, champ.
Back to the game: It was there for the taking for both teams, IMO. You can debate the ref's decisions all you like, but ultimately, Cas were the architects of their own downfall. Entertaining viewing for the neutral, all the same.
