Although I'm reticent to comment on this as it is an emotive subject and you can easily make yourself look foolish and more importantly upset someone you didn't intend to…. but I’ll give it a go:
Personally, it does mildly irritate me when I see obvious spelling mistakes and grammatical errors on here, and when I first started posting I corrected some.....but what I have realised since is that whatever the reason for the poor writing skills, the person is trying to make a point. If I'm part of a forum like this I am wanting to hear and swap opinions, and gossip if I'm being honest, not educating the world.
If it was a verbal exchange instead of written, it would be quite insulting for a well-spoken, perhaps more educated person to point out someone's accent and poor use of English language rather than continue the discussion, so we should treat this forum the same in my opinion.
It would be great if we could give grammar a go but I'll leave that to whoever is typing.
On the particular OP, I would firstly say, well done for posting. All should be welcome on here.
Saying that, entering into an already out of hand argument between Wakefield and Castleford forums was always going to get a slightly more pointed response so you have to be ready. The opinion you want to express is directly related to someone or a group so it is not going to be left hanging there without comment.
I'm sure mcmickeycas doesn't want to be treated as a victim, I’m sure he can handle himself, so all the self-righteous who are having a go at G.PFC need to think about the effect of carrying this torch too far.
I didn't quite understand but I'm assuming you are saying you have a form of autism McMickey. Of course that could mean many things but to be honest, the things picked up by G.Priice Fan Club could have been caused by typing quickly on a mobile. I know I've been there so you are no different to the rest of us in reality.
As it happens, I don't agree with your post. I think Mr Wright has done something wrong, but you are entitled to your opinion and I'll defend your right to do so.
Like everybody else on here, you just have to be wary that when you write something down, it can be misinterpreted just because it is written and not spoken. I'm sure GPFC thought he was just arguing with another fan that he had already been arguing with about this subject and so reacted in a different way than to if he'd known you were new to the forum.
He’s not the only one who has over reacted on this subject, on both sides and I'm sure he regrets it now!
I hope it hasn't put you off posting....especially on your own board. We really should be keeping to our own sides of the fence (and yes I see the irony of my post
