I can't. We're carrying too many passengers and equally, we're not getting any rub of the green. So many decisions go against us it's becoming ridiculous.

which decisions? penalising players for punching out? both teams got dubious calls called for and against them today

Too many to remember.
For instance, the try that was disallowed; the ball that was slapped out our players hands and was given as a knock-on on your line. They're just two to mention.

Briscoe was in touch. It was the correct decision (I was stood right in front of it).

dissapointed with chases' attitude today, very poor, had a great game playing wise but a very niggly and dirty player!

| Better performance by us than the last few weeks but get the feeling Hull will play better in some other games this season and lose, the fact we conceded another 40 points is a real worry.
Why isn't Jordan Thompson getting a run out at right centre?....Hull was having a field day out there again

| I though Cas competed well in the first half and Chase and Orr are always a threat, but you have far too many players who don't look fit, and that really cost you in the 2nd half.
McGoldrick for example spent most of the 2nd half stood out on the wing/centre blowing like a tug, which is inexcusable for a full-time professional player.

Spot on. Mcgoldrick didn't even play the full game either, and the way he lost a footrace with Manu who then set up Briscoe's try in the 2nd half was laughable and tragic in equal measure for us Cas fans

I've normally stuck up for Rangi Chase but i saw a side to his game today that i didn't realise was there.
He clearly went down on Whiting with his elbow after being tackled by him and then after a bit of push and shove between the two he threw a couple of punches

| I think it's the same old problem, we can't do the basics right. You can blame the referee as much as you want but the simple fact is we are not good enough. As has already been stated some of the team are just not up to the job and if it had not been for Danny Orr playing out of his skin and rollocking a few people, we would not have got as close to Hull as we did.
I don't know what Thompson has to do to get a game but he surely deserves a start, we are poor on the right wing and we need his defensive skills in the centre.

| In the first half the WRE provided plenty of uplifting support and there were a lot of positives from the guys on the field, certainly more so than some of our previous games. It was a stepping stone in the right direction, and one that with further encouragement and support the boys can build upon.
One thing for certain though......Danny Orr cannot even be given the option of retiring at the end of this year!! He absolutely played out of his skin!! We just need some of the younger end to follow the fantastic example that he sets both in attack and defence!! He really put his body on the line, and if some of our bigger guys would do the same our defence would improve massively!
C'mon Cas!!

| Quote: Fully "Briscoe was in touch. It was the correct decision (I was stood right in front of it).'" The 2 long passes that chase laid on for tries were both massively forward and can clearly be seen on sl fulltime. Don't think you can have any complaints about rub of the green.

On the highlights that the RFL have posted on YouTube it looked as if his leg hit the line at the same time as he grounded the ball, so I can understand if the ref had given it as benefit of the doubt because he only gets one look at it at fullspeed. Would have thought that the touchjudge could have done more, but it doesn't really matter now because it wasn't a game-changing incident.

| Much more effort from Cas players this week, just the application that was wanting at times.
That's the 2nd home game in a row where our outside backs have been shown up to not good enough by a much superior opposition back line.
Not sure Millward can do much about that, after all he highlighted that as the weak area when he arrived but said there weren't any decent players around to sign.
What frustrates me most with Cas though is our inability to do the basics right. If you don't have the skills - which we clearly don't - then you need to be well drilled and methodical to have any chance of beating sides like Hull, Leeds, Huddersfield (in fact most of the other teams in Superleague!).
Time and again our kick-chase is so halfhearted and disjointed that its no surprise that at least once a game an opposition back is able to beat the chase and go half the length of the field to set up a try.
When you watch most sides put a high kick in towards the try line the defending team is put under real pressure to catch it such that they either concede a try or another lot of possession. We put those sort of kicks in on about 4 occasions yesterday and not once was the Hull defender put under any pressure. On each occasion they were able to catch the ball as easy as you like whilst Cas may as well have stood and applauded their efforts!
