Challenge Cup Winners 2016 (at Wembley) - HULL FC:

Quote: cyprusairliebird "I was stood next to the incident and would class myself as a relatively unbiased individual! The incident occurred when a middle aged coward from Hull threw his pint at a teenage Cas fan next to the railings. Owen became aware of this and was in my opinion sticking up for the lad. The plastic holder did end up on the pitch and unfortunately as soon as the the stewards arrived the coward had done one. For what it's worth I and several other Hull fans apologised to the Cas teenage who was totally blameless.'"

Would you be able to identify the culprit if you saw him again?

Don't need idiots like this giving us all a bad name. 5000+ well behaved FC fans there and he spoils it for us.

The stewards did pass us in the second half clearly looking for someone so i think they have a good idea of what the culprit looks like.

Quote: castigersdave "They are a disgrace, throwing beer on Richard Owen, if I was Owen I'd have jumped into the stands, the RFL of course won't punish Hull FC as its only Cas or Wakey that would ever get punished, oh and I bet Andy Wilson won't say anything either. Biased pr*cks'"

So one person allegedly throws beer, and we are ALL a disgrace?,interesting.

While we are on the subject and this is by way of a warning.

I was in the Princess st stand 40m line nearest the scoreboard and there usually a few Cas supporters mixed in and its all ok. Today we had an "older gentleman" who was a danger to himself by constant stream of abuse to the FC fans around him. He was not really watching the game that much and missed things as he was far too interested in winding everyone around him up. No thankfully the fans where very good and did not react much, but I can see instances where this nasty little man could cause chaos. He was very rude to a mother and children and she told him to go away and I think by half time he needed a new set of victims. I talked to a couple of Cas lads stood near us and they told me he was always in there and always winding fans up.

He needs your help, because this guy is going to get with a few people who do not suffer fools gladly if you get my drift.

It did not spoil mine or anyone elses day at Cas, its always a good run out and I always enjoy the friendly banter, beer and atmosphere.

Poor show from Cas if they can only muster 4,000 home fans on a lovely sunny afternoon.

If something has been thrown at players from the crowd then that is totally unacceptable and the guilty person(s) should be punished for it.

However, it is not right that you decide to label an entire club's supporters over an incident that hasn't yet proven to have happened. Every club has a few idiots in its fans - because there are idiots in every town and city - and so you can't take the moral high ground on this, especially after some of your own fan-base received bans and your club a fine due to their actions a few seasons ago.

Thanks for the details. I was in the away end behind the sticks with the Hull fans but didn't quite make out what had happened from where I was. I did later hear something along those lines, so reading your description of events, I'm sure that is actually what happened.

I don't see why many Hull fans are being so defensive. Real RL fans of every team know what's what in our game and of course it isn't everyone who causes trouble just a mindless few and I'd say all teams have a few planks. Most of the time us Cas fans are a bit touchy with these incidents because we feel hard done by as we were recently fined a couple of times yet have clearly witnessed or been part of similar events that have gone unpunished.

I won't get involved in the bitchfest but just hope anyone who saw anything can report it to the club to help rid the game of our sports mindless few.

Don't worry, they're getting like KR fans making up crowd numbers.

Earlier in the thread it was 3000 now it's over 5.... icon_lol.gif

Cas haven't had an attendance under 8k yet so it's safe to say there was at least 6.5k Cas fans.

Its funny how people see what they want to see. Beer wasn't thrown and nothing was handed to the steward. If something was thrown it must have been something small because I didnt see anything, besides Owen pointed out someone and the chief steward came to have a word and went. If something was thrown and they knew who it was they would have been ejected. Owen simply lost his temper and made himself look a cock in the process.

just back from town (Hull) had a drink and watched the beer on a Hull fans phone. He told me most was thrown over other Hull fans but a lighter was handed to the officials which hit Owen he says. He recorded the beer to hand into the club, lets hope a ban follows. 220 on our buses coming on Friday followed by at least another 2000+, love Cas ground cannot wait. Rovers by 30 points !

Cas have sold 4000 STs and then there's easily a number of fans that don't buy STs.

You didn't fill all of the Railway End and there was at least 400 of about 1500 of them Cas fans. You filled about half the Princess St, which holds 4k, so I'd say 3500-4000 Hull fans.

I saw the pint go over the Cas fan but there seemed to be a minute or so between that and Owen getting involved so I didnt think they were related, however what you say may well be right. Either way it was a very unprofessional response, Orr had to drag him away.

Cas fans can't really take the moral high ground. I've just read the programme notes from today about the obscene chanting.
