| Quote: smoking monkey "I was given to understand the colour is meant to be in keeping with the Heroes fundraiser promotional material. If so, and with everything else going on in the world today, I don't give a flying **** if we play in red especially as some clubs have already played in pink for charity and we've even had a shirt in Fev's 2 Blues and white.'"
If that is the case then that's fair enough. If its due to the fact that nobody other than a directors wife can come up with a shirt design then thats another matter
Either way i still wont be buying it and would hazard a guess that others won't either, I would rather just give the 40 odd quid (or however much they are these days) to charity

No argument with any of that......in fact I'm probably too old fashioned to get drawn into a debate about what a strip looks like as opposed to who's in it.

| Fair play that the shirt has been influenced by charity. As for designs; my girlfriend and I sent in some brilliant ones (even if I do say so myself).
Bit sad but we spent ages doing them one day. They looked pretty professional and they weren't even acknowledged. Not much point welcoming designs for the kit if they are never going to consider them!

| I think its a really smart design, and its great we are doing something for such a worthwhile charity.
A couple of people at the game the other day said they wouldnt buy one because it was red and they hated man u, which is pathetic in my opinion this is rl it has nothing to do with football and the red represnting help for heroes is far more important than some petty rivallry in another sport.
well done the club.

| I wont be buying one for one simple reason, I personally don't like it, nothing to do with Man United or any thing else, I just don't like it I will save my £36 and quite happily give £4 to h4h

| I dont think it looks any worse than last years purple, green & white.
It might sell well if Cas gets some good wins wearing it and people buy it as a "lucky" shirt.
Whats the shorts/socks colours?.
It would be best to have black shorts with red trim, socks red & black strips(aussie style)
Be tidy then

| Can anybody tell me ... Does the away shirt have the "Help For Heroes" logo actually printed on it? If not, how does RED symbolise H4H! The H4H logo to my knowledge and it's official site just shows a medal with Navy Blue, Red & Light Blue bars. The Help For Heroes font is White on a Navy Blue background!
Red has no significant association with Help For Heroes! and is just a crappy excuse given to justify the RED colour. We might as well have made the shirt with Turquoise, Brown & Magnolia Zig Zags and claimed it is for Haiti Aid!
As someone mentioed earlier in this thread ... Red clashes with just about half of Super League's base home colours ... Wigan Saints, HKR, Salford, Crusaders and probably others I have yet to see! ... This shirt will be worn about 5 times throughout the season at the most.
I have already given donations on various occasions to the H4H fund, and will continue to do so, but personally (and nothing to do with Man. Utd) will not be buying this poor excuse for a shirt!
Why oh why can we not use the Amber, Black & White on away shirts! Predominantly Amber for Home, and Predominantly Black or White for Away.
From the feedback I have heard about this new shirt, Help For Heroes looks like it might just about benefit by a grand total of £4
That's my little rant out of the way!

| in keeping with a recent cas tradition the new away shirt is awful. if they wanted to make a charitable donation they could have done so with any away shirt, and not make up some excuse about in keeping with the charities colours.
i'l just buy the home shirt and donate to the charity any hoo. FWIW the away kit should have been whitre with a black and amber vee. the shirt could have incorperated the H4H logo on the chest, it would have probs stood out more that way.

| Is anyone else bored with the whole Awayshirtgate business yet? We have been pretty much talking about it for three weeks now!
Surely there is something else to talk about.
