| Only managed to watch the highlights
I would say cas probably deserved the win but the way saints can win whilst pretty much being the second best team is fantastic.
Luck has certainly gone saints way in the last two weeks and no one can argue with that but no one can argue that saints are back to their entertaining best and I'm so glad to see them performing how I have always loved them to perform.
Good luck to cas for the rest of the season. I have always had a soft spot for them And have always been my second favourite team.

agree with you there snowie mate powell has done wonders since he became coach and although some may scoff at this but i wouldn't be surprised if we stole a piece of silverware from under the big clubs noses, i reckon the cc is our best chance and i wouldn't be surprised if it is a cas/saints final and i'll be shouting for saints doubly against leeds as after enjoying tonights game so much i want it to be a cas/saints final the only difference being a scoreline in our favour
shame how things are going on your end at the mo snowie but i wont dwell on it as i know you are unhappy enough about it and quite rightly so after what you and your fellow volunteers have done at the ground now this is the bit i am gonna dwell on.
last year our club called for volunteers to help refurb the ground and plenty turned up although a couple of your fans came on casforum to bag the club for it as far as i'm concerned it showed the club has true fans who love their club as well as glory fans
then wakey in a time of trouble called for volunteers and you and plenty of your fellow fans came forward to show you too have true fans as well as glory fans and i think both sets of fans should be applauded for what they did but i also think thnigs like this should be highlighted more, i dont know if there were any sky cameras at our ground filming the volunteers working, did any of yours see any there filming you? if not maybe there should have been, have a decent sized slot on boots n all or backchat and discuss it and highlight the fact of what true fans are willing to do for their club.
just like to finish this post by saying if both out clubs had more fans like you and your fellow volunteers and our volunteers both clubs would be a hell of a lot better of than they have been over last few years

| You can't say the last call cost Cas the match, because that then negates all other wrong calls prior to that, to being less important. But this is a pure lack of understanding with regards to temporal theory.
If you look at the last call of the match and say well if that had not been given, Saints would have lost.
Then Saints fans can say well what about the ball steal earlier in the match or the ripped balls from Walmsley. You then respond by saying well that was earlier on in the match, as if the rest of the match would have followed in the same fashion still lead to the Turner incident with the same points on the board.
But time does not work like that, if Manu gets the ball steal or Walmsley gets a penalty for 2 on 1 tackles. Then the Turner incident even never occurs, you follow a different temporal path.
So the last call is not the crucial call, it's just another call which can lead to 1000's of multiple outcomes. Even if the Turner call would have been given to Cas as a knock on, there was over 2 minutes. This would have been enough time for 2 sets of 6.
People just don't understand time lines and temporal physics, this is why they place far too much importance on the last thing to occur and deem all other things prior to this as some what less, when in fact all decisions have equal weighting and equal unknown outcomes. You can't take one call in isolation. If one call is up for grabs so are the rest.

mate all this pretentious crap is falling on a lot of deaf ears. We all understand that "things even themselves out" without you having to patronise us with a lesson on 'temporal theory' - just let us get angry about a bad call like most sport fans do. We lost, you won, so clearly we're gonna be a bit more begrudging to have a balanced conversation with you about the laws of averages or whatever

Yeah I know, but giving us lectures on laws of average and 'temporal theory' when really it's just a bunch of fans getting a bit irate over a call is just a little pointless.

| It was just meant to be a counter arguement to the ref robbed us. Other than simply saying no he didn't.
I thought given the way things stood at half time, I was expecting Cas to win that one to be honest.
I thought your forwards really dominated from minute 1. Even in the second half Saints steadied the ship in terms of our defense, but we kept spilling the ball and giving away penalties.
But Cas started to do similar mistakes as the game wore on.
It was a really good game and even with a few minutes to go I would have put my money on Cas to win, taking a drop goal to just eek out a few more minutes of the game.

| I have just watched my recording of last nights match, it was absolutely superb.
A credit to both teams, we are going to have a real battle to win ,when we (rhinos) visit the lane. I think powell in his aftermatch interveiw was brave enough to highlight the fact that what cas did in the first half they did the reverse in the second half.
Probably the turning point was the hauriki pass which was intercepted . One things for certain no team will bully the cas pack this season. You have some tough nuts in your pack.
As for saints, the signing of Walsh looks to be a masterstroke he really dictates play. It's his input that's probably upped saints performances this season.

To be fair, I thought Walsh looked a little shabby last night, certainly that first half your halves kept us guessing on every last play.

| Fair dues you may feel unlucky. Saints have definitely ridden their luck lately and Cas put in a great performance for periods and really took their chances well.
Good interview by Powell at the end and there will be an inquest as to why the game wasn't shut down in the second half.
From our point of view, some of the stuff to get back in the game was outstanding, but both teams will be very unhappy with some massive blunders that lead to tries scored for the other team, especially given the game was so close.
You'll find that [iClassy Cas[/i are a lot of people's 2nd team, so you'll get plenty of interest and support on these boards

| Truth be told I hope dp rips into them a bit. What is the use in feeling sorry for ourselves? Do you think Wigan played the unlucky card when we beat them as the hooter went. Its a cas thing to play the unlucky card, be gutted we lost late on in a game we should a won and for too long the club has had that attitude too. For me it is perfect timing to learn and build from it. We have the players and coaches to have a great season. Have we got the right mentality?

Agree mostly with this, I thought Cas put themselves in a great position to win the game, and with a bit more composure and smarter second half play they would have won it.
Refereeing decisions go both ways, and ultimately its the team that loses the game that look more into it. I havent heard anybody complaining about calls that went against Saints (such as Swift given as in touch when he clearly wasnt and had passed inside to Lomax who would have scored had the whistle not gone) but thats down to the fact we nicked the game and its irrelevant.
I genuinely think the Cas team in the first half would have destroyed any team like they did to Saints, and in hindsight we were possibly lucky to hold you to 24. Powell & Danny Orr have done a great job, and its scary how much more organised and fluid your attack looks without Rangi Chase...maybe a couple of lessons to learn on closing the game down but I think Cas are looking like the real deal this year and I expect them to be up there come the end of the season which is great to see (they would be my 2nd team if I had to pick one). Hope it continues and I can see you being up there challenging for silverware come the business end of the year.
Also, thought it was nice to see Shenton playing his best rugby again. Know some Saints fans gave him a lot of stick but I always liked him and wish we had kept hold of him longer...never really played with an actual half back with us and would have loved to have seen him outside Walsh as he would have been awesome.

| You were unlucky - very unlucky with the knock on that was allowed to go and led to a saints try. I thought you played really well, I liked the look of Millington - he meant it that lad. By the way if you show half of what you did against saints against us it will be a walk in the park for you, DP is the best signing you could have made - we have RA. Its like Hilda Ogden standing next to Cindy Crawford.
