As a matter of interest, in that same 9 seasons, how many major finals have your scabby little club been in and how does that rank alongside the big clubs?'"
thank god that little scabby club called Gateshead saved you.

Make it fair on them and give them 20 seasons instead of 9

Yeah and you guys are ?
Check how many finals we have being to in that time.
We may not have the best Academy in the world but ATEOD its what happens at first team level which matters. Cas have being very poor on that front for a long long time now, which is a shame but how it is. People say players left for the money but I know for sure Westerman and Arundle are on less then they were at Cas.

| I don't think anyone would compare Cas to Wigan. Warrington, Saints, Leeds, & at the moment Huddersfield, Unlike yourselves we haven't had to be bailed out by the RFL, when they sacrificed one club so yours didn't go bust.
Your production of young Hull Lads into SL, players is poor, & that's why you need to poach young players from Cas, Fev, & Waky, & if not for our scabby little club the mighty Hull would have to look ells ware for it's young British players, because they certainly don't seem to be coming from your own system, so thank god for that scabby little club, for producing it's own players & a fair number of yours.

| Can I just clarify something that seems to have been missed by one or two people. At no point has anyone said anything derogatory about Cas.
It is quite clear who the "scabby little club" reference is directed at and it certainly is not Cas.

| I really don't understand the animosity. If we are producing players worthy of playing at top level, it helps everyone.
Hull get some good english talent and have paid cas good money for it.
If not for Cas lads Hull would tow, if not for Hull's money we would tow...
Either way, to me it will have benefitted both club's SL licence applications in the last 6 years.
I personally wish Westerman, Arundel etc all the best in the CC final, the Cas academy has played a part adn for no reason should we be bitter.
And the "scabby little club" was KR, right?

Unfortunately Dave that won't be the case regarding Jordan Thompson. He is joining Hull - its the worst kept secret in SL but it won't be announced until his 23rd birthday when Hull FC won't have to pay a penny for him. There is only one winner in this "deal".

| I really don't understand what Hull are getting though - Jordan is OK, and I mean OK. He is painfuly alow and can be very pattacake in defence.
He is a strong runner and is very versitile but, that's probably because he hasn't really nailed down a position

| Agreed Dave - I thought Hull would be aiming a little higher for their standards than JT who is a squad man at Cas Tigers and I still don't know what they see in Walker either.

| Not convinced by the Thompson signing, if true. Gentle seems to like to buy 'projects' - Arundel, Johnson, Crookes etc that he can then coach into better players. In reality, we should be trying to get players who are developed if we want to break into the top 4

| buying Crookes was a shocker! not only becuase he is very average, but also because I get him mixed up with Crooks who is very good.....
JT isn't really a project to be fair, he's got where he is through really hard work, but the "natural" skills of the lad aren't very good. Pace, or lack of, is a real concern for me when he plays in the backs for us

TBH, most of us Hull fans don't understand it either Dave. From what I've seen of JT, he looks solid/average with some utility value but very slow when at centre. Hardly the "get us to the next level" type of signing that Pearson has banged on about or the sort of signing that we need.
