| Quote: Gronk! "If you believe in good management then you shouldn't be in favour of Millward being anywhere near the club.
Look at the Wigan players opinions of him, what Long wrote about when Millward was his coach, look at how he handled Mathers...the man is an utter joke and has the man management skills of a dictator.
Good coaches respect the players and the players respect them, looking with how Millward handles things and players opinions on him - neither of that is true with him.'"
I think we will have to agree to disagree to be honest - respect is mutually earned and given and without getting in to specifics and being in around the squad and the preperations - you are only ever hearing a partisan view.
Perhaps I ask myself if I am Longy; how could I could have been if I had managed myself, looked after myself and been better managed and better disciplined? Or how much longer my career might have been?? Not saying it is a fact, just offering a balance argument?
Similarly, Richie has had more clubs than Jack Nicklaus - again, I have no axe to grind but reading some of his Tweets "Dicko made to play" and the Dicko tweets he wasn't. Then "Why does everybody want out" when subsequently actually it plays out slightly differently - perhaps how he was handled is a reflection of how discreetly and respectfully he handles certain situations?
Actually enjoying a discussion and disagreement for a chnage without petty name calling and daft trolling - thanks all!

| I like what you say m dean and mutual respect always has to be remembered. We all have an opinion but this post topic about making potter an offer is meant I know but it also gets me thinking about Bradfords plight so maybe we are not in such a bad position after all. We have to move forward with what we have for now I think.

Why would you want to take the opinions of the Wigan players as true facts about Millward, do you not think that they had already made their minds up that they didn't want him because of his no nonsense approach. Before you say this is rubbish let me remind you of a certain football manager who was at Leeds United for 44 days because the players didn't like him, you certainly couldn't say that Brian Clough was a bad manager as he has legendary status.

No nonsense? Read Long's book...if that's no nonsense then bloody hell!
He's a vastly over-rated, pig headed coach with a Napoleon complex, there's a number of players that have turned down offers from Cas based on him being coach, that's how well regarded he is (and one of them is one of the most professional players you'll ever come across).

Clough was good, Millward is not...massive difference.

| My mind is not so made up that he is not good - not as good as Clough, for sure - again, I am similarly not sure about how much Sean Long has himself to blame for his own shortcomings and as one of my anti-hero's says:
Never let the truth get in the way of a good yarn...... Especially of you have a book to sell.
The "truth" as it were is always the truth according to...... depending on your angle, perspective and emotional investment- I am sure the majority of the people I have sacked or made redundant or turned down for jobs think I am an arrogant egotist who got them all wrong.

| I have first hand experience of millward and his bullying tactics, if he picks you out then your playing days are over at that club. All these things players say about him ( and its a long list) are true and also do people think so many players can be wrong

Wouldn't that be a serious backward step for Mick Potter's career?
You'd have thought he'll be looking for a higher profile appointment, Hemel Hempstead for example "

It was his 'no nonsense' approach to press officers, club staff and various other people that got him sacked from Saints. I agree that a coach should be direct and act as a disciplinarian, but it would seem that his own behaviour is quastionable at best.
Again, our players are undoubtably at fault for the current situation but not soley responsible.
