Start eating. I can tell you now there were less there than at the Cas game which is disappointing but Friday night on Sky in the conditions was a good effort at this stage of our development.
As for Fev being able to compete in SL as a part time outfit no we couldn't because of the recovery time needed and if we went full time we would struggle like Widnes to be consistent, however over the course of a franchise DP would give us a better chance of being competitive than Betts will do at Widnes because we have the youth set up in place and he is a decent coach

As for players brought through from fev, how about:
Zac hardaker
Jamie Rooney
Richard whiting
Stuart dickens
Sam smeaton
Muffy mferdudu (I think! A forward breaking into first team at times)
I'm sure there is some I have missed, and I hope these are right, but our youth system is a real strength of the club.'"
Yes but they are not playing for you, thats whats counts. We have lost Shenton, greg eden, Andy lynch and many more. , we have 7 playing super league for cas you have 1 playing championship for fev. There is no chance of you playing in super league believe me. You are riding on the crest of a wave, make the most of it.

| Cushler, Wigan didnt have one corner at that fev game i saw on telly, they had where the sky screen was but the opposite corner was empty, cas took more or about the same, but it was a firday night on sky, so that is probably the reason why

But you still want to be part of it cush, tbh you are better off where you are , enjoying success rather than being tolerated by the RFL ans just making up the numbers.
Superleague aint all that if you are not one of their favourite clubs

| I take my hat off to Fev for Fridays performance and I don't think that the final score does them justice for how well they played.
However, there are 101 ways in which people can, and will, selectively read into the Fev games against Cas and Wigan. One such way is in respect to playing for 'pride' as opposed to 'pay'.

| Reading through this thread there is some true comments amd some people trying to get one up on one another
Firstly what is happening at Fev on the field over the last two years is excellent from 15s to Scolarship to first team and this in my opinion is because we have one of the best coaches in England who could easily coach us in S/L. The question is are we running the systems better than the bottom of S/L clubs with no funding and how could we improve with the help our S/L friends get
The next problem is our stadium. As far as we are been told things are going well the club are applying for funding and they hope to have the stands up this time next year. Theres reasons why they have not started and this was explained at the first fans forum If over the next 2 years the stadium is improved and we are open and honest with the RFL about how quick things are to be completed this must be a positive you cannot lie for ever
At the moment our league matches have been 2000 this year and i believe with the work that our new CEO Craig Poskitt (who left a S/L club)is doing these have the potential to improve and they are one of the best in the championship
MC is improving the turnover and Poskitt is getting the sponsors and the publicity we are getting from the press of late is excellent If we dont stand still and continue to improve off the field the club should be in a very good position in two years time
If in that time we are running the club efficiently and the RFL think that with the extra money S/L clubs get we could be better that someone who is in S/L then we should be given our chance if not we will have to stop in the championship
Regarding the players that have come through and left that is what i would expect when the S/L door is shut for three years If Zac had been told he couldnt leave what message would that send out to other youngsters who thought they were going to be good enough for S/L they wouldnt come My worry would be if we were in S/L and they were leaving
As for the comment about Fev not been able to play like they did against Cas and Wigan week in week out i agree we wouldnt but if we entered S/L we would have full time pro players that were not at work 5 days a week and training a few hours on a night. A full time team that were looked after and coached by DP would compete in S/L no problem maybe not at the top but would not in my opinion finishing bottom
Time will tell two years is a long time and the present clubs at the bottom may improve and if they do it will be hard for the RFL to include Fev or another Championship club but if they dont who knows.
It will also be interesting what is in store because i think there will be a two tier S/L and there will be some S/L club complaining when they are put in the second tier so London can stay where they are

That is about the most sensible thing i have read in a while.
Excellent post!!
I have a lot of time for Fev, and while there are a lot of dark forces involved that make your job of getting into SL much more difficult than you imagine, you are going about your job in the right way and will make it very hard for the RFL to turn you down, which can only bring more pressure to bare on us and Cas.

They make more posts on here than on the actual Fev board

There's a lot of truth in that comment, although would we think the same if we were on the outside looking in? I'd like to think so
And to be honest I think we are both going to put it to the test, if they reduce the private members club to 12 teams. Unless the whole house of cards collapses before then
Happy days

| The 'reduce it 12' brigade, with Jamie Peacock as their cheerleader, seem to think that Sky will pay the same for a reduced number of televised matches and thus, the 'big' clubs can funnel more of the Sky money to their own coffers and I guess by extension, increase the SC. Both are far from dead certs and any arguments about standards and the health of the game will fall on deaf ears - Sky don't give a shiz about any of that.
I'm afraid my view is that despite a flurry of publicity recently and some good stuff happening off the field, Fev won't see SL unless a) they do so as a merged entity with an existing WY club or b) Cas or WTW are ejected for failing to meet their franchise promises. Even b) doesn't guarantee it, as either could lodge in the others stadium and deliver on their promise by the back door.
Featherstone just doesn't make business sense - the catchment area is too small and it doesn't have the potential to add any value to the SL as a commercial proposition.

They make far more commercial sense than London do, granted they are substantially propped up, but Fev clearly know what they are doing.
