Its not as easy to say that now. The recent success of leeds, and our general decline(thanks to our clueless b.o.d's,which only recently is being sorted out) means we are seeing more rhinos shirts in the area and more car stickers too. You know what kids are like they want to be associated with winners.
If we fail in our license application we could lose a generation of young fans to the big city neighbours, and end up like the likes of Hunslet,Dewsbury,Batley & Keighley, fighting a losing battle for hearts & minds.
So ignore my previous post about not caring who wins tonight, im hoping for a Wigan win, then a Saints win in the final

'starved' back to work is what most historical documents say.

Well my old man has done many things that have made me proud. He decided to become a nurse at forty! But the thing I am proudest of is he stayed out for the full year during the miners strike, and between him and my Mum they managed to provide for the family. He still jokes that those who went back to work got thirty grand and he got a bloody badge. I recon he still would not swap that badge for thirty grand of Maggies money. When someone decides to become a scab, that sort of shabite sticks for generations.

| I agree. If only so i could climb those floodlights again and play in t'pit yard. lol. The houses are aweful imo, someone with silly ideas again designing stuff that shouldn't be there. Plus they go and call it Beeston street/lane when no one has ever had any ties with Leeds at all. Seems like they only want to turn Allerton into a refuge for folk from Leeds, i hardly know anyone in the village any more.

39793_1491679334.jpg "Castleford's biggest home crowd of the 1991-1992 season wasn't quite 12,000 while on average they'd sit around 6000 but the noise, the chanting and the singing just blows you away" - Tawera Nikau "Standing Tall"
"I can tell you the atmosphere was extraordinary at Wheldon Road on big days. The ground held around 15,000 people, every one of them close to the action on the field and the noise would be enough to send a rumble through the town" - Malcolm Reilly "Reilly - A Life in Rugby League":d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_39793.jpg |

I think I heard somewhere that the street names are mining-related and that one's like Beeston/Middleton are named after seams?
Re your chicken story, you've never struck me as being a budding psychopath but then again anti-social and potentially homicidal behaviour would not be recognised as abnormal by most of us Allertoners.....especially when directed at migrant loiners.
