Quote: wakeyrule "Just what I said about Newmarket - the money is there, we just need the council to stop playing politics with planning permission. As it's not Trin's stadium, Cas can tag along until their money is sorted out and their own stadium built without feeling that they are playing in their rivals stadium.

What it boils down to is we need PP, but not more money, you need the money that WMDC ain't got UNLESS they go back on their promise to Trin. Neither of us can afford to wait, but if Box is playing poker with Trinity he needs to be careful, cos the mood amongst Wakey fans is to call his bluff and re-locate to Barnsley (if they'll have us) rather than play in Cas Tigers stadium. If Wakey move to Cas we're doomed, 'cos the units will get built anyway just a year or two later and without the need to 'chuck in' a stadium as a sweetener. If Cas shack up with Wakey for a year or two there's every chance your lack of money will sort itself out - plus it'll give you time to sort out the compulsory purchase you desparately need for the access routes.'"

So what you are saying is that WMDC have decided that you will get outline planning but it is being held up by certain members of the council in collaboration with the planning officers to further the GH stadium - If I wre you I would get straight onto the local goverment ombudsman !!

The compulsory purchase is for a few square metre's of grassed area's in front of B&Q, Pizza Hut, Mc Don's and the Ford Showroom to enable the new gyratory road system to be constructed.

Bit unnecessary, don't you think icon_rolleyes.gif Wakefield planning issues have got bugger all to do with Leeds, and any objections they raise will be dealt with by the planning process. When all said and done, Leeds are just a bit narked that Wakey have beaten them to it, cos IF we get permission it probably snookers any chance Leeds have for their side later on.

And as for the compulsory purchase - if I owned any of that land I'd be offering it to the developers at market rates (and then some icon_wink.gif ) 'cos it must be pretty valuable to the developers - it stops you in your tracks if you don't get it. And if they tried to compulsorarily purchase it at any less than what was a good price I'd be fighting it through the courts.

FWIW, me being a nasty suspicious sod, I think WMDC are playing silly buggers so that they don't have to put any money into either scheme, and they'll blame it on Cas and Wakey pig-headedness!!

Decision was due a week or two ago, but was put back 'til September by WMDC, then Box put his oar in in the Wakey Express saying we should share or there's no money for anyone - sounds like politics to me!

You keep saying WMDC put the application back, Have you read the submissions by the highways agency and others? They are the reasons behind the defferal, without the highways and other statutory bodies issues being seen to they wont even consider it

Someone put the decision back, and that could only be the planners or the applicants - I heard it was the planners, but like everything else on here that is just hearsay. I'm not really up on planning matters - does your full permission rely on you getting your highway matters sorted out (the grassy knoll!) before your outline permission expires?

Quote: Arv "Unfortunately, that's not the way that compulsory purchase works.

You mean fortunately - believe it or not I want you to get your stadium and us to get ours (wishful thinking, I know). Actually, I'll be sorry to see WR go, I love that type of stadium - not really suitable for the la-di-da RFL nobeds though, is it.

I honestly think that the heart and soul of RL is being ripped apart by soul-less hyenas with fake tans interested only in fake plastic stadia filled with 'middle class' plastic fans watching plastic rugby played by plastic participants interested more in their bank balance than the sheer pride of playing for their team. The futures bright, the futures plastic!! Not the kinf of future I want to look forward to, TBH. Good night!

I mean unfortunately. It means that "they" can get "their" hands on what "I" have managed to scrape together whenever "they" like at whatever price "they" deem suitable provided that "they" can demonstrate that it's in "the public interest". Doesn't really matter that in this case it could be working in "my" favour.
