If Cas don't keep home grown talent it is madness. Has TM fallen out with Boyle ? The players rumoured to be coming to cas apart from Snitch are too old imho.

I am not in favour of letting boyle go id give him 3yr deal asap let him develop with sargent as a mentor on the pitch. Snith I agree with paltyed very well this year.

I can recall an interview not sure if on tiger tv or not where matterson said we were looking for experienced super league players for recruits this year I maybe wrong can anyone else recall this.

How do you know all this is true ?

As for the age thing,could it be TM is looking short term,if these ageing players get you into the play offs or challenge cup final next year it puts Cas in a much better position come the next set of franchises.

Isn't one of the franchise points awarded for average 8th place finish over 3 previous seasons?

With you finishing 12th last year and assuming you finish as high as 6th this year you would still need another 6th or higher next season to get this point. Any lower than 6th this year would mean you needing a 5th or maybe even 4th place next year to get the point.

Maybe TM is looking short term for getting you another point on the licence applications?

We cant keep doing this every 3 years though....short fixes to make sure we stay in SL. I know we have some good youngster coming through but there's no garantee any will make it to SL. Where's the next batch after westerman and owen. Both will be 20 this year so where the next 18/19 years old in the same mould as them 2 players.

The key word there is rumours. No need for everyone to get worked up saying TM/RW have alot to answer for when nothing even happened.

Agree with you, but rumour or not the fact is that to my knowledge we haven't resigned some of the promising players we already have (like boyle). We need to get off our backsides and resign them.

I'd be dissapointed to see Boyle go, IF the rumours are true. I can remember back to the grand final win against Widnes in 07 when TM was interviewed he said something like 'we can bring the juniors through' or something along those lines. Apart from Owen, Westy, Shenny .. who else have we bought through in the past 2/3 years? I like the fact we have Owen, Shenny, Westy in our side, but it does annoy me when on sky you hear 'Oh Cas have great youngsters coming through and they name the same 2/3, We need more of these young lads given a chance. I'm not doubting we don't have them because i know the 18's are going well. I just think we should give a few more a chance..rather than sign players ala short gap EG = Jackson. (allthough only rumour!)
