Ian Millward, simple as.
But don't worry, the Millward sympathisers will be along shortly.

| Today was the most, dull, boring, un-inspiring, effortless game that I have ever been to!! I even feel sorry for those who came to the game for free under the 'bring a friend' promotion, the club was guilty of wasting their time as well. It will be a while before any of those who came as a newbe to the game today, come back for more punishment.
'Classy Cas' is dead.....and 'Clueless Cas', is a more fitting name!

I hope for cas sake that they get shut of milward. He offers nothing to the club. i love going to cas v wakey games but last week you were clueless in attack. Defensively you were very poor.
You have a decent squad on paper just the coach cannot get anything out of the players. Sack the coach put the assistant in place to the end of the season. Might not win again but should see you improve as players should respond.
And no im not another troll i actually like cas

| I'm wondering if the Chase situation has more to do with the unrest and poor form rather than Millward ability to coach?

| I have been willing to give Basil a chance as I think you have to do that with every coach, but throughout this season he has constantly taken the club backwards. Strange decisions such as sending Mathers (who is a decent established full back) to Wakey, whilst going with Owen (who is a talented but far from established winger/fullback) at fullback seemed strange. Then today Owen was back on the wing with Johnston at full back!
Going from the shocking result last week to perhaps an even more shocking result this week is just baffling! Our defence has got worse and has certainly not improved over the year and you have to wonder what they actually work on. Sure a lack of tries can be down to a lack of ability of the players but not defence. Defence is down to good coaching, to getting the team working as one and for each other and that is what is lacking.
There are some noises that Millward may be stepping down and I hope they are true as he is just not right for Cas. I'd love to see us get Kear from Batley as he knows how to motivate players and get them working together and there is nobody better than Kear for taking a team out of a position of adversity.

| Millward has not improved one aspect of the team's performance since he took over. The only way he would make a good coach is if he took his teeth out and put some seats in.
The only problems I see are 1) Can we afford to pay him off? and 2) Who do we replace him with? On current form, I wouldn't be bothered who took over.

| Ian Millward is slowly building "his" own team for 2013 and beyond. I am willing to give him at least the start of next season as I think he was handicapped this year by players coming to the end of their career's, players coming to the end of the contracts and poor recruitment (I wouldn't blame IM for this but more the BOD for taking so long to appoint TM replacement).
The signings for 2013 are encouraging and I feel that each of the 6 players signed so far is an improvement on the ones that they are replacing. I still feel that we need another 4 new players (Rhys Williams, Wellar Hauraki, a loose forward and a Prop would be my choices) to come in as well as the retention of Griffin and Snitch (1 year only) to give us a competitive squad next year.

Where fid I specify that Snitch is competitive. I mentioned that him, along with other signings would contribute towards a competitive squad. Go troll somewhere else.

| I had said on another thread that i would be prepared to give Millward 6 games into next season, well his team selection yesterday has changed my view....why on earth would you start an inexperienced but fairly talented young scrum half at FULL BACK?
Why didn't he play Owen at full back (after all,he was convinced he was his 1st choice selection there that we got rid of Mathers), then bring in James Clare or Josh Atkinson in on the wing?.
I bet Craig Gower & Michael Witt couldn't believe their luck and targeted the poor kid in the 1st half...it was complete professional suicide.
Also when you see the likes of Craig Huby's and Adam Milner's heads starting to drop you realise thinks are at a critical state.

| There was amoment in the first 5 minutes on Sunday when Ellis ran across the line and dropped the back rower off in the channel and he was clattered - me and my pal both said "who run's that crap play anymore, you have to be more imaginitive" in the next set Gower ran the same play and their back rower poured through a gap unfettered and passed inside for Dorn to score!!!!
So, the bottom line is, could our defense have read that? Yes - should they at that level, yes - is it a question of being prepared to get hurt for a cause and they simply couldn't be bothered? Yes I think so.
It is easy to blame Basil and he has some responsibility but jesus, the run on people need to have some responsibility for their own actions.

Great coach over the years? He's won 11 of his last 51 games in charge of a full time team.
