| My memory may be wrong but haven't the Bulls had a couple of us when we've gone down over the years? Lynch, Platt and Godwin spring to mind but I may be wrong.

Without point scoring, ask our neighbours accross the common - I am not having a pop, but you have to balance the books.
If Bradford cant sustain a business on their income, then a charitable bail out only prolongs a failing business. Even with the ground sale? Bad business management anyone?'"
Correct, but in fairness to us we were excluded from SL at the start and have not won nearly a dozen trophies in that time. To mis manage a long time fading club like Trinity is bad enough, but to get a poster boy club like the Bulls in this sate is criminal and could have been avoided if acted on much much earlier.

Absolutely agree, on ALL points.
The issue that will be hard for the Bulls fans will be entering administration, its not at all good, but they will see in time that the people who got them into this position will be gone, and at this point that (and the continuation of their team) is the most important thing.
Wakey paid up unnecessarily much of our debts, and i think that is a honourable thing to do although i do think it SHOULD be done, it won't convince ming mong's such as forrard or whatever its called at the minute, but for a club in trouble, being badly run and hurting it's self and its own supporters, administration should be looked upon positively.
IF any club was in trouble i would advocate administration as a way of cleansing the clubs soul, under strict conditions.

Also agree with this.

| They don't raise the funds, they go bust, "Bradford Bulls 2012 Ltd" is hastily formed with a clean slate, signs up all the players and plays their home games out of the RFL's latest acquisition. The creditors get sod all, nobody says a word and it's all forgotten about come Franchise time....

Here is where the RFL have left themselves in a spot becuase of buying the ground.
Come the next round of licenses when exactly what is described above has happened, the RFL have left themselves in a situation where they HAVE GOT to change, flex the criteria to be sure of the Bulls getting a license. Regardless of any financial debacle. Or, pretend it was all fairly done - becuase otherwise if they sink the Bulls franchise then they own a crater in Odsal with only real estate value and nobody renting it.
I am sorry for the honest Pro's making their living at the Bulls and I am sorry for the fans of the club who are showing up. But if your club can't be managed effectively, then you deserve to sink ask Leeds United.
Having to be bailed out on the ground was terrible, so allowing the situation to worsen and not act to reduce costs at that time is nothing short of criminal negligence in a business sense.
Sorry Bulls fans, but I hope you are not saved by shady charitable means that 'pretends' everything is OK in the next license award, becuase it will smack of a double standard ehtically that the "new" company starts debt free and shafts the current creditors.
I am not going to have a cheap pot shot at Wakey - they were only saved by the Crusadrers farce and all right minded Wakey fans knew this - they were dealt the cards. Fair play to them, they are moving on now and good luck to them.
I am grateful my club I can say with certainty will still exist in 5 years time come what may, I am grateful we own our assett and I am glad in the last license applications we were not saved at the 11th hour by someone else failing.

| Bradford have been a poor team for a good few years now, and fans won't turn up to watch a losing team. The rfl won't let Bradford go under as they own the ground.
Double standards!
Feel sorry for their fans though.

Truth is they are not alone, with RW at the helm I would be concerned if I were you and I don't mean that in gloating way either - very few SL are in a healthy state at the moment. I reckon this is just the start.
What many don't know is that he RFL commended Wakefield on there finances as late as Sept 2009 nor as a share holder did our accounts for 2008 (presented 2009) look all that bad either, basically one year before we went bust.
Most clubs other than those already purged (basically us) are to a bigger or lesser extent crippled with old debt. This in a time when banks simply will not lend more and are all to happy to claw it back by pulling the plug - which is effectively what happened to us and now Bradford. Castleford are as vulnerable as any, in fact by virtue of not having gone bust in the past (as far as I'm aware) you may have more toxic debt than most but that is pure speculation on my part.
Nervous times for the game.

Not really, they were doomed when you run a club this way:
Cheap season tickets
Spend the full salary cap on under-performing players
...the cheap season tickets is the problem imo, you can't lose out that much on season tickets.
Where as if you look at Cas, they don't spend the cap because they know they can't, and the loss they did make last year wasn't anything compared to the other teams and as long as Fulton is still around, the club is fine.
