Jamie doesn't holds grudges - I reckon he just got a bit carried away warning us to keep our feet on the ground I don't think he meant we would necessarily come unstuck against the so called big four, but there are testing times ahead for sure, although we have our best squad in years and at times we are playing like a top four side.
Jamie always says he's thankful to Cas for giving him his first taste of pro rugby league and he has a soft spot for us.

I found that strange, completely ignoring the fact we'd beaten Huddersfield.

"Stand by me as I stand by you, be brave and dare to dream".:

In my opinion, Bloem is doing what he is paid to do.
A large part of the show is dependant on text messages and the conversation that stems from the messages. In order to make sure people continue to text in the hosts must generate debate and interest.

Job done!!

The essence of what he said is spot on, too many of us think we have become saints overnight.
Facts we beat a very poor Wakey side
Fact we beat a well below par Shudds side
Fact if Fox could catch Hull KR would of blown us out of sight in the first half that they totally dominated.

Yes we are much better than i have seen for years and long may it last, but we need to keep our feet firmly planted

I actually think that show would be a lot better without the bitter and twisted sounding text rants they often read out. Constructive debate is fine, but that show has a serious lack of it in comparison with the constant point scoring from texts and emails.

I agree with Jamie , maybe we have played well enough to beat 3 teams who have not played very good against us.

Wake - team thrown together at last min - came out firing but not good enough.
Hudds - failed to controll ball and kicked the ball badly by their standards
Hkr - not seen them play that bad in ages , clearly missing a key playmaker.

However ,cas have played well at times and have fully deserved the wins having been the best team on each occasion.

Would our performances have beaten teams like wigan , saints , leeds ,warrington ??? Yes if they had an "off day"
But if these teams put in a top performance I dont think cas have a good enough team to beat them, i include hudds in this.

All that said , you only have to be the best team for 80mins to win a game and thats what cas have done so far.

I hope I'm not coming accross as over-sensitive and I'm certainly not disagreeing with anybody's view that we are unlikely to maintain our current position. Maybe it's just me but when Jamie said our wave will soon come crashing down on the beach I thought he was being unnecessarily/excessively negative and out of synch with the usual Radio Leeds promotion of the clubs it covers, which was perhaps what was going through the mind of the presenter (James Deighton?) when he instantly reacted along the lines of 'I think we'd better leave that there'. Anyway onwards - and no doubt in true Cas fashion - downwards icon_wink.gif

Personally, I don't like what he has to say about us - and agree with Smoking Monkey that there's more than a whiff of bitterness surrounding such comments.

ps. Whilst it's certainly prudent to remain grounded in our feelings concerning where we are at present, I don't think we need to make excuses for these successes (we've played every game so far safe in the knowledge that about six other 1st teamers are not involved - barring a drastic injury crisis there's every reason to believe we'll be a highly competitive outfit throughout this season).

I know what you mean about the texts. It certainly appeals to the Jeremy Kyle generation whilst alienating those who enjoy genuine debate; a sign of the times I'm afraid.

Quote: tttiger "Hudds - failed to controll ball and kicked the ball badly by their standards'"

Must disagree there ttiger - if anything it was the superior longrange kicking game of Brough that kept Huddersfield in it in the 1st half.

What was obvious in the 1st 40 of the game against the Giants was that in most sets of 6 Cas made 50 or 60 yds with the ball in hand to get in a position to put in an attacking kick whereas we mostly restricted the Giants to having to kick the ball from inside their own half in that 1st period.

This contrasted with the inability of Quins to do the same against Giants last Friday night.

Cas should also be commended for stopping the momentum of the Giants early in the 2nd half after they'd scored a try and looked set to get on top. In previous years we'd have undoubtedly rolled over and ended up losing but the new Tigers have the determination to stick in there.

Agree with most posters that we've not played the best sides yet and must keep our feet on the ground - no doubt Matterson's telling the players exactly that - but we've done somert we've not managed to do in the past ie. show some consistency and won games we've got a sniff of winning.

Because they want to encouraging 'debate' - unfortunately the best way to get responses is to print the argument of someone from one extreme side of an argument.

Although that said, didn't you once get letter of the week in RLE?
