Goodbye all. It was nice knowing most of you.: |

| Quote: steadygetyerboots-on "This situation presents a very unusual moral dilema. Personally I would be disappointed if Cas were to feast from corpse if I'm honest. That said if a truly world class player was available, I can see that it would be difficult for a club like Cas to pass up the opportunity.
Fortunately I don't think there is anyone at Wakey that would be worth losing your principles over so hopefully we wont get involved.
It's times like this that the rivalry the RFL has forced upon Cas and Wakey with the advent of franchising pails into insignificance and we should be helping wherever we can.'"
It was always likely that this would happen when they went into administration. In a sense it's a bit like what happened at Cas when we went down the first time... players' contracts void and off most of them went.
I'm fairly satisfied with the squad we've got and I don't think that Wakey have anyone who would make a significant difference to us ATM.

| I agree with Dettoriman in that Paul Johnson is just about the only one worth taking at first team level but I would hope we're looking at the talent in their U20, U18 sides and lower and seeing who is worth picking off, not for 2011 but for the years beyond.

| I know what you're saying StuMain, but it just wouldn't sit right with me is all. Just because everyone else is doing something isn't a good enough reason for me to indulge. I would hope that Cas had it's own house in order sufficiently so that it wouldn't affect us if other clubs are feasting from the wakey corpse.

| I guess what's happening to Wakefield now is what happened to Cas when we went down.

Yeah, but we lost players we probably couldn't have afforded without SL income and had some time to find replacements suitable for NL. Unless Wakey wanted to cash in their assets I would be opposed to exploiting their horrendous situation not least because because it will do the game no good having them get tonked every week. In theory Obst, Murphy and Ferguson would definitely improve us but whether they would add sufficient value to justify the cost is debateable.

Yes, I'm not saying that I like the idea - I was well cheesed off when we lost all those players and I wouldn't like to see that happen to any other club.

Apparently he rejected a move to the Giants and is now interesting Hull FC.

Two of them at least used to be at Cas. Three if you count Sarah Robinson.
