| So the Wakefield Council have nailed their colours to the mast! Lets face it i don't see how Wakey could manufacture a new stadium without the undivided loyalty and backing of the council. At least we know where we all stand now and we have to progress forward on our own. oh how i'd love to see the LCC put the Newmarket "dream" to bed and then see Teddy and the rest of them knocking on our door!

| That statement is exactly what I, as a Wakefield fan, would have hoped for!
Wakefield should pursue their stadium ambitions and Cas should pursue theirs.
WMDC should do everything in their power to help BOTH clubs achieve these ambitions. If either stadium plan fails, it should not be because of anything that WMDC has done (or failed to do).
Good luck.

| theres the crux of it,
However, Castleford Tigers has always stressed the importance of maintaining momentum on its own proposed stadium development at Glasshoughton. The club is delighted to announce today that it has signed an agreement with developer Waystone Ltd., which guarantees the land required for a new stadium at Glasshoughton.
With planning consent already secure, the 20 acre plot of land at the Junction 32 site is the confirmed location upon which to build a state of the art stadium which will secure the Super League future of Castleford Tigers.
Architects Ramsden & Partners have already been appointed and will be unveiling detailed plans for the proposed stadium's development ahead of the Leeds Rhinos fixture next month.
So its onwards and upwards with ours while the polecats can colour in the very nice crayon drawings that they have , so glad they arent coming to ours, at least it will be ours
keep off our land polecats

| I don't think it says a great deal, no surprises there.
The detailed planning proposals were expected 4-6 weeks after the last RW blog as far as I can remember.
It doesn't give us any clearer view on where the council stands with regards to our stadium.
There's no mention of funding, presumably because that's still a massive issue.
So 2 weeks of back and forth and we're back where we started. Wakey continuing plans for a site that looks like it will never be given planning consent and Cas continuing without a proper funding package in place.

| Does that mean the council pull back their kind offer of land?
How does this sorry affair look to the RFL?
RW would of seen through the feasability study and decided on its outcome the course of action for Cas to take, Wakey dont want to wait to be told anything and only want it to be their plans or nothing.
Show us the plans RW then whisk them away sharpish and get them through!
Hopefully we will start, I am not even bothered if it is a phased build.
Rather us with bricks and mortar and Wakey in Barnsley with a promise.

We never wanted on it.
Good luck to you. We've both got we wanted now, not to be seen within a mile of each other. I hope Glasshoughton progresses now, because it is largely irrelevant as far as Wakey is concerned, and I would like to see Cas stay in.
The statement didn't need the Newmarket comments, as it acknowledges a bloodied nose, but if both parties are being honest about their respective prospects, then it is good news for both. And it means there will be not be a Calder Trinity Tigers team playing anytime soon.
Good luck Cas.

Both teams going it alone and fair play to both, no need to be falling out about it.

No. I think it states that the council will give the support required for Newmarket in the same that it has supported the Cas project, which helps with the planning prospects, rather than just supporting Glasshoughton.
