Most people have criticised the club for keeping Sherwin or saying what a waste of space/money etc etc he has been.

Surely releasing him early from his contract is more beneficial to us. Gives us more money to play around with for this season and also can be used to persuade a quality half for next season..

But you have to remember that it's Cas.

I would hope that given that Shifty is leaving this week/has already left. That we have someone lined up to replace him for the rest of the season.

Then i would hope that we sign a quality player for next season and beyond, as i said in another thread. Brett Finch would be nice. Although i can't see that happening!!

Well all I can say to this is that the club had better have an immediate replacement lined up.

without a direct replacement the club are in affect writing the season off.

with that so will many of the supporters who can take it or leave it on a sunday afternoon and the revenue saved on sherwins wages will be lost in gate revenue.

now is the time for a statment of intent for the club and we desperately need a good signing in the bag for next season or even better now,with so many players leaving we need to know that the club intends to sign better players than the ones who see their futures elswhere.

I'd be happy not to sign an immediate replacement if the result was keeping Shenton and Owen then signing a new 7 for next year when other players come off contract.

He has been poor value and i am happy to see the back of him, i feel he has had a well payed holiday on Cas and has never been really committed to Cas. He has been wrapped up in cotton wool missing the hard work in training and far too little time on the pitch for the money sorry pension.
I expect Sherwin to perform for Catalans he has had enough rest over the last 2 and half years and can play when he is match fit and focused.

I don't expect too much of a replacement this season but Cas could well surprise me.

Don't laugh but i could name one or two out of the national leagues who i would be content with for this season.
The team have shown they are lacking confidence and leadership when the going gets tough, losing the overpaid prima donna may help some team spirit.

I will be interested to see how the team react, the coach needs to step up or ship out. If matterson really cannot see whats happening and can only shake his head and mumble after the game at Quins it is time for a change.
