Leeds Council can say what they like, they have not got the power or the will to force the issue - straws clutching of.

| This is just my opinion:
Announcement made a wakey yesterday to appease the fans, it said they were still working towards Newmarket and I expect RW to say more or less the same that we are still working towards GH. Both sets of fans will them convince themselves that the BOD's are going to stick to their guns and their ground will prove to be the one chosen.
However in reality both clubs have to keep focused on their own ground and keep working towards building the stadium as 1 will be chosen and to just wait and see would lose valuable time in the building planning process. Once the study has decided which is the best option the 'losing club will come out with a statement saying despite wanting to build own stadium we will have to share, that way the BOD's look like its the council forcing them into the decision and the fans anger will be directed at the coucil and not at the club.
However (and again this is just my opinion not from a 'reliable source') if GH gets the go ahead and Wakey are determind to press ahead with NM what would be the chances of getting planning permission if the council had already deemed that it is not the best option?????
Niether fans from Cas and Wakey really want to share but if it's the only way one of us is going to have to bite the bullet and move.

Stop talking mindless rubbish, you're making an utter fool of yourself.
Leeds Council have minor objections. So what, the land falls under the control of WMDC and it's planning departments and other agencies will decide whether it goes to a public enquiry which seems unlikely.
I find it truly pathetic that you are pinning your hopes on the ludicrous and made up theory that Leeds MDC can somehow bully another very large MDC into doing it's bidding, grow up and stop being so bitter.
The Leeds objection by the way was raised by one Councilor and is not Leeds MDC policy and as ever is something the press have latched onto.
Best of luck with Glasshoughton, now show us some good grace and offer us the same - I won't hold my breath

The statement read out yesterday was written and released by Rodney Walker and the Wakefield Community Trust with the agreement of WMDC and Yorkcort as far as I could tell. This is to say it wasn't an announcement by the club, the club were just passing on the news. I'm not saying we have it and you don't I really don't know either, I just felt it was important to note where this statement came from. Had it just been a Trinity club statement I'd have forgotten it by now but it wasn't it was drafted and approved by people far higher up the pecking order than Ted Richardson or Richard Wright.

Thanks for the best of luck regarding Glasshoughton and I wish Wakefield the best for Newmarket.

| We have all said (both sets of fans) smoke and mirrors, the powers that be can make as many announcements to fans as they like promising the earth......... but in the cold light of day behind closed doors deals will be made.
Lets just wait and see and unite as two sets of fans wanting the best for our clubs instead of trying to prove each other wrong or playing the my dad is bigger than your dad game because lets face it 80% of people on these message boards have minimal experience in business, council planning applications or financial accounts.

And the excuse the council wanted to withdraw the offer of land worth 2 million from both clubs.

As for picking holes in the statement, that's what debating is all about and you cant tell me you really think the council have said they will only back NM and not GH as is intimated in the statement.
Time will tell but i believe as much that comes out from both clubs as i do when MPs talk in the run up to an election'"
People can debate about the 2 stadiums while they are blue in the face as far as I am concerned, It will only interest me if and when the bulldozers' start levelling the ground and the concrete is being poured, and as for Mr Box that man will say anything bar his prayers as been the case in the past on numerous occasions regarding Wakey so i think you will find that a lot of Wakey fans might be a lot happier than they were, You will find the majority are far from ecstatic atm. I just find it annoying when such as Marshy criticises Wakey fans for discussing it on here but finds it acceptable for Cas fans to discuss it on the Wakey board, I would point out though that debating is usually done by two sensible parties and not where one is simply out to insult the other people, for comformation of this read the two threads on the Wakey board regarding stadiums.

| The polecats will have to go to a public enquiry end of, that will be a minimum of 12 months from any potential planning permissions, they cant get away with it, it effects 200 acres of greenbelt.

Oh nice to see vastypants has crawled back out still talking out of his anus i see, if he cares to read the statutory statement from Leeds council he will see what the councils policy is, not one mans, but the council rlintresting Reading, Section 5rl
IE THE PLANS PANEL (NOT JUST ONE COUNCILOR) RAISED STRONG OBJECTION TO THE PROPOSAL ON GREEN BELT HIGHWAYS AND NATURE CONSERVATION GROUNDS..... CONT AND THEN IT GOES ONTO SAY THAT IN ADDITION A COUNCILOR GOLTON MADE THE FOLLOWING COMMENTS TO WHICH LARGLY REFLECTS THE PANELS POSITION
The plans panel considered that the overall amount of the development was "unwelcome and unnecessary" and also requested that officers sent a copy of the objection directly to the goverment Office
So vastypants, please engage brain before putting mouth into gear eh

So what!
We'll just have to sit tight won't we. We may have to go down to NL1 but so be it, at least we won't be playing at Glasshoughton and thats best for both clubs. So stop worrying about Wakefeild and get on with building a stadium at Glasshoughton and let us at Wakefield worry about ours.

I wont reply on Marshy's behalf he's bigger than me! apart from that i agree mate we have all be arguing the t*ss but the RFL have not recently said we need to merge nor have they said any of us are out.
But i think were right to suspect one of us will go, least not for failing to deliver on a promise albeit in a recession.
I love this game and have never wished any ill on Wakefield as a club, i have some very good friends who are Trins , i also see that widnes are a better prospect than us both at the moment if you consider facilities alone.
We will all be judged when the time comes and will all wake up the next morning with real worries and not just those of where our colours will play.

| I think you will find there is little chance of a public enquiry.
Newmarket will be reclassified under the LDF in 2013, maybe earlier, this has already been ratified by the SoS.
The classification of "greenbelt" land was only ever a temporary measure to eliminate/marginalize tipping and out traveling friends. FACT.
The land the stadium will sit on is not in question.
If our stadium bid had moved to J32 the development would still have gone ahead without the community facilities- it would just have sat dormant until the reclassification- how ironic for the protesters...
The council have given us the nod and I have no doubt that come September we will be given outline planning permission. The community trust members (as well as SWAG) have already said our full application is amended following the HA report and ready for submission as soon as we get outline permission.
Please Speedy use the loaf old fella.

It may be reclassified in 2013 but that doesn't make a difference. Now is not 2013. By virtue of their own UDP, it is greenbelt and therefore that in itself is a reason to reject the plan until 2013.
Nobody knows what the council have said. For all we know, it could have been 'fine, get on with it but we'll do it by the book and give it no favouritism as a result of your decision'.
