doesnt really matter how it compares does it, the fact is you have had your fair share of the money how it has been spent is not the argument here is it.

For gods sake tigerman10 why ruin a good argument with fact ? blooooooody hell why
also on the wakey am clubs are a discrace topic? Stanley, Crigglestone, Westgate have excellent facilaties Eastmoore is fine ! You do a disjustice to the amount of hard work that is done by all the volunteers at those clubs .
But if your only interested in what a local council can buy then i suggest you go to stanningley, Now thats what i call a facility

You sound desperate. And after all the bad things you have said about Cas you expect a lifeline.
You are a first class prat.

| Quote: tigerman10 "so which part of that is our problem and which part of that has anything to do with us goundsharing. i have read your comments on the wakey page makeing us out to be some small town neighbours who need their big city rivals to survive, but the thing is we are not going around begging people to ground share with us. and as for wakefield getting nothing (now i could be wrong here and this may not have council funding so i appologise in advance if i am) but what about the hepworth museum, the development behind the trainstation, the development on jacobswell lane, the work in the bullring, and all the upgrading work that has been done on westgate, some of that must have had council funding.'"
I may be wrong but didn't wakey sell there ground to the council therefore they've already had help/money.

| Belle Vue has been sold, but not to the council. I believe it was to a housing developer called Cala Homes, or something similar. We have had half this money paid up front (and presumably already spent it on general operating costs, tax arrears, who the hell knows what....) I don't think money is the most immediate problem for us - we have no chance of getting any planning decision, even outline, before the next SL licence applications are submitted in November this year - the whole project just keeps getting taken off the council planning meeting agendas month after month - which says to me that something is not squared away. Without planning permission I do not believe the RFL will grant us another licence - I know I wouldn't take the club at it's promise to get a stadium sorted again. Our regular club apologists/know-alls/bullsh*tters keep saying all is well and this delay is simply in order to get all the details just right, but very many on our board now have less and less faith that the stadium will ever materialise. There is also an air of secrecy around the whole project, but no-one can tell us why. However, this criticism cannot be uttered on the Wakefield board without a barrage of withering replies and a lambasting for being negative.
The ground share has therefore become a possible lifeline for Wakefield in many peoples eyes. But only if it's at Newmarket, mind. You know, the place where there is no prospect of even outline planning permission for the foreseeable future. Basically, I do not think the people involved are capable or competent enough to deliver a project of this scale. I wish Cas nothing but success with their own stadium plans.

Wakey
No pool, every amateur club is a disgrace in terms of club house and facilities, my club included, no funding for anything, a total and utter disgrace.

I personally find that comment very offensive, ive played at Crigglestone for 10 years and there are countless people who work really hard up there to keep the club going. The facilities up there are second to non.
The facilities for alot of the amature clubs in wakefield are not bad at all, Croftons got brill facitlites, as have Walton, Stanley, Sharlston.
Normanton, Westgate and Eastmoor have got decent facilities and there are people who work endlessly to keep the clubs up to scratch, i think you are doing them a great injustice!!

i would love to think that was going to be the case but the thing that makes me think its not is that i have no idea where the club is going to get the 180K + from to put in for the full planing permission. i think it is more likely to be the case that RW will show us 3 possible designes that we will choose from to put in for PP, so more delays i think will be the order of the day. but i hope i am wrong and you are right.

I could be wrong here and im sure the polecats will pounce, but if it has to go to a public enquiry, then the secretary of state has to be involved, and rarely does planning permission be given, It may allow for sports purposes the building of a stadium, depending on many factors, but i doubt anything else. rlIm sure the Nimby's are banging their drums as we speakrl, so its not going to be plain sailing. The highways Agency arent happy yet either " rlintresting Reading, If you can be Arsedrl Especially from Leeds Council in section 5 Oooer the dreaded otters section 8 statutory responses Ecology
