I think Briscoe is a good player that has lost his way at Hull and would certainly welcome him to the club.
However, money wise I think it would be a little silly to spend money on a position that doesn't need strengthening unless we are preparing ahead of next season or someone else is leaving that we are not aware of.
The intention by the club was to have two players for each position and so far we have:

Dixon/Owen
Shenton/Gibson
Webster/Channing
Carney/Clare
Sneyd/Dorn
Seymour/Ellis/Johnston
Huby/Lynch
Clark/Milner

Albeit some are linked.
If Briscoe comes in, I think that's the end of his career at Cas for Richie Owen. |

Not a bad team on paper. Not sure Owen has a place anyway to be honest. he hasn't shown much in the appearances he's made. Bottled it in defence a few times against Wakey

Mariano is a back-row not centre. Gibson is a centre, Owen will be cover for wing.
The Utility tag at the bottom is a bit questionable given half the squad are utility players i.e, see the letters added above to represent each position and where they can play.

we need channing to strengthen our centres - it's obvious that that is where we have been lacking for 2/3 eyars. Webster and Shenton are a class pairing but it's keeping them fit. Once one goes down we've put thompson there who was painful to watch

One more Ex Hull player signed, in Scott Wheeldon.
As a youngster he looked outstanding and in his first season he looked like he would be a stand out SL prop, after that he never kicked on and went backwards, hopefully Powell ( who I think is a great coach) is the man to help Scott get his form back.
