| Quote: Gotcha "No, you are just putting your head in the sand. I was there and the "we all hate leeds scum" is sung everytime after a try is scored, not just at this game at all games.
And you were most definately singing "the referees a w@n*ker" after Shenton had a certain try incorrectly taken back for a scrum.
Am I pathetic enough to put an email to the RFL to tell them this? am I balls, as I couldn't care less, I would rather leave the clubs and the RFL deal with these things than worry myself over silly conspiracy's.'"
The most factually incorrect post ever. I too cannot recall any chants with that. In fact, the only one I think directed at the referee was by the Hudds fans under the gantry singing "you don't know what you're doing."

| Another thing to take into account here is that Leeds and St Helens are a club with a strong rivalry over the past few years, and Graham is a player with a history of antagonising Leeds fans with his actions on the field. Their abuse of him was a result of this, and I'm sure wouldn't have come had it been a generic player like Chris Riley, who was used as an example earlier in the thread. In Gareth Thomas' case, he clearly had no history with Cas and the majority of fans had probably never even seen him play before, since it was only his second game of RL and AFAIK the abuse occurred during the warm up, so it's clearly a totally different context to the chants of the Leeds fans.

| Can somebody tell me,
Were the chants just simply,
"does your boyfriend know you're here?" & "We can see you holding hands" (as a scrum formed).
Does the above entail homophobia? Really?

| Aaaah that's where we we went wrong....
If we had history with GT any abuse would have been tolerated...
Just looking for that clause in the Respect policy but I can't find it.
People please realise this is not an anti Leeds campaign by Cas fans, you were just heard first on the Sky and we are waiting to see which way the RFL will go.
A satisfactory outcome for me would be to drop the fine and overturn what has happened at the tribunal swapping it for a stern public warning and some common sense and a more concerted drive to rid the numpties and educate people from schools up like is occuring now but more widespread and possibly more RFL involvement.
When Dwain Chambers came Cas took him round the schools on a drug education push, is the same happening with GT at crusaders?

| ^^^^^^^^^^^
? Why ?
The same arguments would get put forward whoever it would have been.
Unfortunately it was Leeds, unfortunately we have some numpties who were present at GT's first away game.

No, if a player with no reputation or history had received the 'fat ginger b*stard' chants before the game had kicked off, then it could possibly have been claimed that this was victimisation. If the Saints fans had started chanting that Ryan Bailey (a player with history there) was a n*gger, then that would obviously not be acceptable. What the Cas fans did would be akin to making racist chants to someone like Michael Worrincy before the game had kicked off.
Quote: waltontiger "When Dwain Chambers came Cas took him round the schools on a drug education push, is the same happening with GT at crusaders?'" No, why would he? To educate children on the dangers of being a homosexual?

Yes, he could warn them to stay away from Michael Barrimores swimming pool!
