| Before I respond to Redleague and tttiger can I first of all say I enjoy my trips to Wheldon Rd, always have and am looking forward to tomorrow.
Redleague 3 easy games, I take it you weren't there in May 2009?
tttiger shame you couldn't get a Super League side tomorrow?
How many Super League teams would bring more than us tomorrow?
Before you get on your high horse please remember that your application for Super League was accepted due to your promise to have a new ground in 2013.
Get over yourselves you too, show a little respect for other clubs.
You probably will win tomorrow but it won't be easy.
Finally I couldn't care less whether you have a new ground in the future, I still like Wheldon Rd which I believe is adequate for what we need.
O'h and watch out Featherstone are much more favoured for 2015 than Cas or us.
Enjoy your day.

Yes I concede we didn't bring as many as I thought, but with respect the grand people of Castleford didn't turn out in numbers to support such a good servant to the club.
Thanks to Liam for that fantastic pass to us.
No sour grapes but your first try, right in front of us was never under the players control when the ball was grounded.
I wish you every luck for the season.
A great club with a proud and successful heritage.

Your replying to a wakey fan .......
On the game, it was a very poor showing from us and about as well as fax will play all year against what is a cup final for the part time team who will do well against Hunslet or Leigh as usual.
Never mind you can go back to your own forum complaining about our 'dump' seeing top flight RL while the bernashay sees part time RL, despite having the same chances as us in modern rugby (a luxury better suited potential SL clubs such as fev have not had).
They complain because they are jealous and the only thing they can complain about is stadia because in every other aspect they are a lower tier club, we have gone down TWICE and came back into SL within a year both times... They got relegated 10 years ago and the top flight has forgotten them because all around they are not a top flight club and neither can they sustain one...
Halifax - poor old me of RL

| If by "top flight" you mean clubs like Bradford and London then I'm certainly not jealous. I have vehemently discouraged my club from attempting to get back into SL. Like Castleford, we neither have the funds or the set-up to compete and whilst The Championships are the graveyard, for me personally the Rugby League on offer is still enticing.
My anger as always is directed at the RFL and the licensing system - a system which they did not make robust enough, allowing clubs to go bust and renege on stadium plans whilst still keeping their licence. On weak clubs it offered no deterrent whatsoever and didn't enforce a strict enough regulatory framework.
With Sky funding, the bottom six in SL offer no greater promise than the top four in The Championships could so poking sticks and thumbing noses at "poorer" clubs is about as Thatcherite an attitude as you could get. That's a strange sight to behold from posters coming from this area.
I'm sure we all agree that the current state of affairs cannot continue. It's why SUPER LEAGUE chairmen voted for a change. That change HAS to encompass attitudes that benefit the whole game and not just focus on funding for the top table.

| Licensing wasn't just about stadia, though. Sooner people accept (and get over) this fact then the easier it will be to understand why clubs were given licences.

I actually agree with a lot of your post, well most of it apart from the bit where you said that is as well as we will play all year.
I like Cas, they are a very similar club to Halifax and a very similar town. I also agree with a lot of what littlerich says and its something we discussed at the game with people around me. Yes we shouldnt get carried away with the result because afterall we were playing a team who wont bother the top 8 when it comes to the end of the season. You look at both teams and you could take a lot of ours and individually put them in the cas team and they would do a job near the bottom end of the SL ladder but on the other end you could take a lot of the Cas players out of the team yesterday and only 1 or 2 would be standout at our level where as the rest would do a decent job. I really dont think there is too much between bottom end SL and top end Championship.
The ground thing gauls me as its a bit of a running joke that goes on and on but then again I like Cas`s ground and with a bit of work Im sure improvements would be made but it boils down to money in the current climate and maybe us leaving Thrum Hall wasnt the best decision we made but who knows. im certainly not sure why the hatred from certain Fax fans is directed at clubs like Wakey and Cas who are very much in the same mould as ourselves and could have easily have found them selves in our position.
Something we also mentioned yesterday was that I wouldnt swap places with any team in SL at the moment. I doubt we have the money avenues yet to be anything other than what Wakey and Cas are which is teams just making up the numbers and I would rather play in the league we are in and challenge for trophies.
Anyway I wish Cas all the best this season.

| seems daft to bicker about. Was a sluggish game for both teams and if you're going to judge anything this season on yesterday's result then you'd be neaive.
We had 9 players left out and Danny Orr in who hasn't played for 2 years.
Enjoyed the occasion and was nice to see old faces from Fax again.
All the best

Well said Dave I thought the game was a typical 'Friendly' TBH , Fax looked really good passing the ball and if they can keep young Ben Johnston fit and give him game time they will have a cracking player there , As for CAS we played pretty well and I was pleased we sneaked the draw , Thought Richie Owen looked good and Tansey looks fitter than ever this year .
All in all a good hit out for both sides that will have shook some cobwebs off and also raised a good amount for Chubbs.

| Fev up next this Sunday in what will be a decent tester for our lads. Should be one or two back from injury as well - Huraki, Milner, Shenton and Gibson maybe. Might even give Webster a run-out.

| This game should be a good barometer for both clubs; particularly with the new format fresh in the minds of players, club officials and fans.
