What would we know, we're just from a small town in Wakefield - despite the fact it now seems too far away for Wildcats fans to go to watch their team regularly!

Well i suspect each individual fan will make his/her own mind up on that, unless we apply the other theory
The other theory being that an entire rugby club and its supporters should take the blame and punishment for the moronic behaviour of a handful of people, I take it.
It's amazing what happens to individuals when they get treated as groups: they can begin to start seeing everyone else the same way.

If theres a merger my club ceases to exist, its the biggest threat to the clubs future.
If there is no team called castleford tigers then i will support lock lane.

| Just caught the statement on Radio Leeds from the Wakey chairmen at half time from Belle Vue.
It said they have had meetings with all groups involved in Newmarket (including wmdc) and they won't be ground sharing at glasshoughton at any cost.
With Richard Wright saying ground sharing was a good idea in principle i am fearing the worst

I wouldn't this is CLASSIC Wakefield, take their bat & ball home because they weren't going to get their own way, so pull out of a feasibility study that would have favoured Glasshoughton.
It just shows Wakey to be a bitter, close minded club who will be out of the league in 12 months time with no hope of a new stadium, the council will HAVE to give Cas at the very least, the original 2m because they, unlike Wakefield agreed to the study.
Not to mention, RW has said they will just crack on without the council money, but just phase the stadium if Wakey were to do what everyone knew they would and start sulking. It's just the Wakey way.

Gaslight, you only appear to be hearing what you want to hear. It was said in the announcement that only NM has the full backing of the council. It is highly unlikely, therefore, that the feasibility study would find in favour of GH otherwise I am SURE Mr Box would not give backing to the NM project.

| I hope there is an announcement on our site saying we will never share at Newmarket in the next 24 hours.

Just because the council are backing a stadium, doesn't mean they would have picked it, due to the feasibility study being done by an independent company, for a start.
The council have also said they will support BOTH clubs, this reaffirms that. Ted has taken his ball home in a strop and has put Wakefield right on the brink and is risking killing the club in an attempt to kill Cas.
Newmarket had nothing that would have been advantageous over Glasshoughton, Wakefield KNEW this, hence not backing the study.

I am sure that you beleive your statement to be logical but unfortunately, you should be in a minority of one! You are not making any sense to me.

Because you are:
A. Of such a Wakefield biassed nature, you fail to see that Newmarket doesn't compare favourably to Glasshoughton, that Richardson pressures the council everytime he wants his own way, like the time he said if the council don't write of Wakeys debt it would be the councils fault the club went bust. Or the fact that the council have ALWAYS said they will back both clubs, no matter what.
B. Of such an inferior intellectual ability to recognise that your chairman, in his bitter ways has attempted to kill of Castleford Tigers by putting his own club at severe risk, considering all the negatives around Newmarket.
