Correct, the feasibility study was fine - the cost was not hence it was feasible
had WMDC (remember their project not ours) got the money it would have happened. You seem desperate to disprove a very obvious rationale that a shared stadium is looking a very real possibility by continually digging at Wakefield - can't think why as I would suggest that neither club has much control over what happens next

rlONLY the money? Hmmm.. what do you think?rl

You just can't tell what a feasibility study's going to turn up, which is why they have them. Still, you Wakey fans keep living in your magic stadium dream world if you like (just like you accused us of doing three years ago) - It's no skin off my nose. But ffs don't waste your time coming on here and spinning your crap to us.
We've been there, done that.

OK, let's approach this from a different angle.
Pretend it's not me you're talking to, let's drop all club issues and be rational.
So, I have no insider info (truth is I no longer do) instead it's just a gut feeling, one of those "you just no what's going to happen moments" - a bit like when we play you
What is it this gut feeling Vasty - I don't her you ask
Well it's this - WMDC.
You see for me this thing will be decided politically and not by the clubs or their supporter.
In a nutshell the Stanley development is an absolute WIN WIN for WMDC which in one foul swoop will remove a massive monkey off it's back. It simply gives them everything they need to wash their hands of the whole issue and at the same time come up smelling of roses - they simply can't lose.
If Glasshoughton goes ahead along with Stanley they will end up with a community stadium and privately funded stadium within their area. All parties will be happy. However I firmly believe Cas can't fund it and with Stanley available neither will WMDC, but maybe they can in which case fine.
If Glasshoughton fails and Stanley goes ahead they WMDC be OK because they will have given Cas the option and if they miss the boat they only have themselves to blame.
If Cas join in WE get a new state of the art bigger stadium that due to it's position ie in Wakefield but damn close to Cas they can genuinly say they have helped provide a facility for the whole community. This is something they could not do if they backed Glasshoughton which will always be perceived as the Cas stadium.
With the sort of money we are talking and the political situation from a purely rational perspective you just know what's coming next - go on admit it, it's what worries you.
TBF I would be worried if I were a Cas fan but only because the stadium is in Wakey though only just, the other way around and I'd be worried - I suppose that's where the Trust bit comes in - it would need to gain the trust of both sets of fans - big ask I know.
I'm not saying it's what I want or where I want it, I'm just trying to be realistic and not think like a fan.

| just seen the interview for the first time and like with Chinese whispers everyone hears and perceives things differently .
for me the translation sounded like this.
I wish we would of got our butt in gear sooner as now with the economy the baba has hit the fan , to make matters worse them barstewards down the road are announcing plans to build a stadium right on our f'ing boundary. i wondered why wakey hardly battered an eyelid when the park idea was turned down . we cannot share as both sets of fans are bigots and have many issues although it could work as we do have a jack Fulton's in wakey . TBH i blame brad Davies ever since he muttered those fatal words and sculthorpe's pit bull crapped on the field we always end up making an ass of ourselves and make Wakefield look the better option.
just my interpretation.

| The council will help fund the Cas project. Reasons are tourism. The Exscape and shopping outlet will be big winners. The new tech will also benifit with new sports . Whats stanley got? Now thats me thinking like a buisness man not as a Cas/Wakey fan.

No they won't - they won't fund either as stated by Peter Box as policy in Council Chambers in October last year. Certainly not money and that is fact.

Yes Stanley could fall on it's ar*e - now swallow hard and say the same about Glasshoughton.
Like I say, it's just one of those you know what will happen next moments for me. It's just what I think will happen.

Well, they could 'fund' it indirectly. If they want council facilities in it, i.e. a decent swimming pool they can say, stick it in the stadium costs, we'll pay for that etc.

My Bad Vasty.
I should have put part funded it.
The council would be stupid not to get a running track, state of the art gym and new sports /swimming pool for half the building price and at half the running costs, all they need to do is help fund a part of it.
All this and the NEW tech thats open in Glasshoughton and where some of the Thornes park students will be moving to anyways.

Yes of course, even at Castleford's RELATIVELY ADVANCED STAGE Glasshoughton could still ultimately fail.
