I agree with what you originally said and i've used the very same argument with friends in the past over players. They have said a certain player should be let go and i've argued that even though i think the player isn't good enough, we should keep them unless we are bringing in better. We seem to always swap like for like and never improve our squad though, possibly for the reason i replaced your reason. All this must change or we will never be anything but a side struggling to stay ahead of the bottom sides. We keep hearing about wanting to make the play offs but we shouldn't be just scraping into them like last year and possibly this year. Eventually we want a squad that not only can make the play offs but actually deserve that spot and even have a shot at winning the trophy at the end.

i cannot see no top nrl players joining us and ive a feeling that a lot of people will be dissapointed with next years recruitment.

for me next year will all be about youth and if players like owen,walker,milner,thompson, arundel and holmes can cerment first team spots then i for one wouldnt be massively dissapointed.they are the future of our club and if they get a squad number in place of a journey man from the other side of the world it can only do our future well,next year will help them then if we get a franchise and a new stadium then it is time to spend big and with a secure future there is no excuse to not bring in quality players to enhance our junior system.

i was just wondering due to thi likes of Hull FC and Salford strengthenin their squads already for next year, just didnt know whether we had took further steps to gap holes left by players such as shenny or sarge, ahh well looks like we'll be recruiting cast aways again

We already have a replacement for Shenny with Arundel and that's probably one of the reasons why we didn't fight that hard to stop Shenny leaving. Of course, someone could say we've taken the cheap option there. We also have Ryan "put him anywhere but centre" McGoldrick who once upon a time was bought as a top centre. Of course, now we have Danny Orr on board and Mathers at full back Ryan can finally slot back in his original position, but i doubt he'll get many games there personally, he'll be in the halves i bet mostly.

Not sure we have anyone lined up for Sarge but then i don't go reading all the rumours usually. Anyone fancy Fielden?

Where else do we need to strengthen? Pretty much everywhere, no disrespect to the players we have. I'd love us to also go out and get a proper scrum half who can lead the line and let Rangi play his unpredictable, but effective game, instead of him feeling he has the world on his shoulders. ATEOTD i think it will all boil down to money, which we won't have spare while we are trying to get this ground built. So i'd expect not many signings at all. We'll probably let Clayton go at the end of the season and resign him or something.
