| Wakefield being pre season favourites for the bottom spot would be nothing new. Equally so it will be nothing new for Wakey to prove the doubters wrong and avoid relegation.

In my opinion it depends on what happens from this point in. Tim Smith was good with Sykes last season but this year Sykes has spent a lot of it injured, consequently Smith hasn't played as well and on current form won't be as missed as people think. If Kay took Cockayne's spot (if he is going back to KR) then we used Goulding and Wildie then I think we could stay safe, not top 8 but maybe 9th or 10th.
London looks the obvious one to drop down,I think it will then be between us, you and the 'iconic' Bulls
Merger anyone?

| Quote: casman2 "I have the same feeling, although this is more down to the arrogance of Koukash than anything else. He seems to think he can do what he likes just because he has money and that buying a team guarantees success. I for one hope he falls flat on his face.
In all honesty I think it is pretty safe to say that if London do enter the competition next season they will be behind from the kick off as they haven't signed any players and seem to be losing nearly all their current ones to retirement or other clubs. So for that reason I have to say them to finish bottom. (although whether the RFL actually relegate them for finishing bottom is another story!)
As for the other team to go down, I'm really not sure.
Wakefield have time to find more investment and they have a good crop of players but just need to sign a play maker to replace Tim Smith.
Widnes seem to be getting stronger and I think another off season under their belt will help them further
Salford I think will be around 8th/9th place
Bradford I think will be the same
As for Cas, I'm interested to know who else is leaving (rumours aside!) and who we are bringing in. Hopefully a full pre-season under Powell will benefit the squad but losing a player of Rangi's talent is going to be massive for us. As I have said on another thread, I hope we don't replace him with someone who is either extremely cheap or someone nearing retirement (i.e. Dorn) as this will not help us avoid relegation. I'd like to see us sign a young talented half that has a proven track record but also something to prove to the rest of the RL world. That may be asking too much as I know halves are in short supply but that for me is the ideal.
Obviously defence is our biggest weakness. I can't remember the last time we conceded less than 24 points in a game. This is something we desperately need to work on, We're good in patches but it doesn't seem to last long. We will need to work on attack too as 95% of our moves went through Rangi so we need someone to step up and take that role on'"
See I'm the opposite. However much I don't like the Dr's goings on I hope they win the league or compete very well next season (other than against us). Why? Because it would then show potential investors that RL is an attractive investment for their millions.
I believe with good investment teams like Wakefield/Cas/Fev could compete with the big guns as there's no other major sport other than Leeds FC for people to go and see.

Doesn't need to be a big name, just someone who can get us moving.

If you live in a country where you can get arrested for fishing without a licence, yet you can't get arrested for entering that country illegally, then you know that the country you live in is run by idiots!

| Really hope London go as they offer nothing to Super League. If they can't manage to generate crowds of 5-10,000 in a city of 7 million, then they don't deserve to be in it.
They know the RFL will always hand them a lifeline and bail them out so that they retain their place.

Errr we were very close to admin and they were loving it, now it's their turn again ( they have a go every other year) , so yes you do reap what you sow.

All it will show is what a millionaire can do with any cash they no longer want. I'm not sure it will be ever seen as an "investment", particularly at Salford, but it is interesting to see RL as a rich man's plaything.
Back to the subject, yes, London. Salford with Smith and Chase should do enough, particularly with Noble coaching. Then it's between us, Widnes, Bulls and you, I suppose.
What will be good is going to games where every single league point will count and so it should be an exciting year at least. Do you think they'll give our two clubs the last game again?

It will be Cas vs. Wakey in the last game of the season again I bet.

| Unless the RFL bail out London they wont be in the league next season, I know Fev are waiting in the wings to take there place.
For me it's a little bit early to say, need to see how recruitment goes, how Cas replace Chase, will Wakefield have to sell anymore players to survive, how Bradford recruit. How will Fev if they come up will do.
Only one I would pick now are London/Fev.

How much though Brad - 60 odd creditors not insurmountable is it? Firefighting would do the trick.
