If you are a Wakefield ratepayer, you paid towards that!

Quote: Tigerade "Poor show that Kinley - I'd expect remarks like that from Bazzo but not you.'"

Why so, bazzo is a quality poster and there's nothing in my post that isn't based on Fullys constant spin on everything GH being positive and in Cas control, which clearly it isn't and probably hasn't been for a long period of time.
I have no real axe to grind but after all this time fullys argument holds little substance IMO of course, and yet there is no visible change of tac.
I want Cas to be a strong team as I see that as adding value to Wakey, and vice versa.
That's all.

Quote: frank5613 "the problem with the Newmarket scheme is not the ground what might get built, its the massive amount of green belt land what will be lost, but what dose it matter, the waky fans are over the moon, all they have to do know is get full planning, what cost Cas a load of money, and wait for all the grass to be concreted over & sold, then will Mr, Glover be paying for the architects drawings, and the planing or will some one ells'"

You really ought to do more reading and less listening to people with an axe to grind.
1. Overall there will be a net gain in green belt in the district.
2. Any objection has had more than enough time to prove this claim as being a legitimate one.
3. It was never really green belt (in the sense it was scrub pit land only) in the first place.
Let it go, it's an argument that's been shot to bits.
Concentrate on making Castleford's future a bright and prosperous one.

Are you for real?

The post you replied to said - and I quote - "which is firmly outside of our control".

Just shows you haven't read anything in a rush to post your inflammatory responses.

You quote that as it's some kind of injustice to the rate payers. If you took your Black n Amber glasses off and think like a sports/RL fan you would see this as an excellent investment for the community. Sporting facilities that will will benefit the whole district run by a community trust. The facilities are there for all rate payers to use. Certainly a lot more fairer system than what Castlefords proposed at Glasshoughton. They wanted rate payers money to contribute to build of of Glasshoughton (the £2m land loan) then they wanted to own it and charge rent for the use of the said facilities...the cheek of it! Now that would of been a scandal if public money was used in that way!

I have no doubt someone will be along to tell you thats just not true or at least "spin" it a different way.

Won't be long before the minister of spin rolls in to town.

You also wrote about pressing ahead which Is what I was referring to, an attempt IMO of you to gloss over the inevitable with yet more clutching of straws.
So I read your post clearly, it wasn't intended to be inflammatory, only my assessment of your consistent posting style.
I have long thought you would not get to GH there have been many signs along the way you have chosen to ignore or "fullyise " the content.
Now your new Chief Exec has added his doubt I thought you might have conceded defeat that you were fooled or foolish.
Clearly not!!!
I will maintain a struggling Cas is not in the best interest of Wakey and I would like to see us both pushing one another up the table and towards success.
But making stories isn't going to make everything alright; hard work and the folk of Cas putting their hands in their pockets might.

I disagree with your first two accusations but until we have diggers and men in hard hats on site (real ones not for publicity photos) we have got nothing.
However the amount of banging on about GH with the same lack of progress makes for a hypocritical conundrum, I'm sure you'll agree?

Troll bait thread started by a troll, brilliant icon_rolleyes.gif

The faux-civic pride from the Polecats is almost vomit inducing too.

So an ex pit is now greenbelt - better stop Glasshoughton right now icon_rolleyes.gif

Have you read or listened to a single thing that has been said in the last 8 years. For christ sake man HOW MANY TIMES. Wakefield Trinity do not own the ground and never will, we will only ever be tenants. The stadium is being (hopefully) built for the Wakefield Sports Trust at the request of the Council in return for their support for the wider development of the NM site to benefit ALL Wakefield. You can come if you want, we can't stop you - it is technically as much yours as ours.

Still peddling the same big lie Alf - get over yourself and try not to look dumber than you already do.

The Councils only monetary involvement was the putting up security - a piece of council land worth 2 million to cover any risk being taken by the developer - how long this remains in place I'm not sure but it now looks certain said money will never be called. Hence no more rate payers money has been used than would be used to bring ANY development to WMDC that could provide 2000 jobs.

The same deal is available to Cas and the Glasshoughton project if they can find the rest of the cost - which as yet they have not.

Grow up mate, grow up icon_rolleyes.gif

everyone needs to get real.......... neither club will have a new stadium before 2015. There are reasons for this include facts such as ...... both clubs are skint , both clubs are very poorly run in comparison with the top 4/6 clubs. Wakefield spectator base in poor in relation to its catchment area and cas are losing supporters due to having a substandard team for the past 4/5 seasons.

A new stadium for either club will not solve the massive issues such as the ones above - both clubs need to get their act together first !

In fairness, it's no more vomit-worthy than all the nouveau eco-warriors over on the nutjob forum, lamenting the loss of acres of idyllic countryside, cruelly taken away from generations of asthmatic children to come.
