| Dont see Foster or Williams for a variety of reasons.
I dont know why Dixon gets such a bad press, but maybe thats personal to me.

| Quote: Fumper27 "Who would you play as our starting wingers next season? Justin Carney and ??? I'd love us to sign either Rhys Williams or Jamie Foster as it's great to have wingers who can finish of breaks a la Nick Youngquest and not get caught after 10 yards a la Kirk Dixon'"
Dixon, despite the arrival of Shenny and Webster I still expect our wingers to be involved more crucially in defence than attack. Fair point about Youngquest but are there any available finishers of his type around and how many tries did he concede, particularly from kicks. I'm not sure Dicko has bombed/gifted many more tries than he has scored and while you might think that's not saying much take a look at our points difference. If we can find a reasonable back-up threequarter, fine but having spent a bit on one winger I wouldn't want to splash much cash on another when more integral positions could still do with strengthening.

Think it is an attention grabbing headline but think the reality would surprise you.
If you take out how impaired he was while playing in 2012.

| going back to the sammy lloyd days, not the greatest player, but had to play him for his goalkicking, lethal, consistent, match winner, foster could be as well.

Would prefer williams to foster, think he has more to his game.
I agree with you about dixon, he is excellent under the high ball, positionally good, tackles well and run the ball well, all he lacks is pace, would rather play a winger with all those attributes that doesn't have pace than one that has pace and nothing else (ala griffen)

| Quote: Towns88 "Foster would be an improvement on Dixon in my opinion. To have a back line of;
Owen
Carney
Shenton
Webster
Foster
would be so much better then what we've had at all this season, with the likes of dixon, tansey thompson & clare ready to fill in, we'd also have a bit of depth in that area.'"
Given that carney is so short i wouldnt want to see him isolated on the wing, other teams will kick to him all day long, i would use him in the centres, where his bulk can be put to better use, webster is quite injury prone so imagine carney will get plenty of opportunites.
Fb-owen, tansey
wings -dixon, another winger (williams?) clare, atkinson
centres-shenton, webster, carney
Thats what i would prefer to see personally.

see it as:
Jordan Tansey replaces Ryan Mcgoldrick
Jamie Ellis replaces Danny Orr
Hauraki and Gilmour are fair superior to Ferres and Jones
