I will pay for his ticket myself if your team wants him, under him we have no defence whatsoever, no ideas in attack, no team spirit, have gone from play off contenders to whipping boys and our best players are leaving or want to leave, if that's what a good coach does god help us if we get a bad one.
I don't think that the players like milward even a little and are miserable (hence our lack of desire and team spirit) as for 6 quality players, most of them have big question marks over them and most of them wouldn't have got a deal or as long a deal at any other sl side (excepting maybe baring widnes)- can tansey sort his life out? can he get back to sl standard after failing to impress at york?(no other sl club would give him a deal), can carney rediscover the form he showed before his badly broken leg? (wasnt exactly hot propert in the nrl), how long will gilmours body hold up, (no one else would have given him a two year deal which will see him reach 37((!)) before it runs out), can webster get over all his injury woes? (cant see any other club giving a sick note player a 3 year deal), has ellis got what i takes to be a regular sl halfback week in week out? maybe maybe not (cant see him walking into any other side and becoming a first choice half back with so little experience).
Really there is only shenton that doesn't have some major question marks hanging over him.
Even if all of them work out well they plus just 2 others are going to have to replace orr, hudson, ferres, mcgoldrick, griffon, youngquest, jones, jackson, grehan, mitchell, snitch, arundel and davies, which is a very big ask. Even more so when we are releasing talented academy players like brierly and harris. This is in no small part due to our income being drastically reduced with crowds down due to us playing the worst we have ever done in sl and an early exit from the cup to lower league opposition, under ian milward
With milward in charge and such a skinny squad we will finish in the bottom 3 if we keep chase, if chase goes we will finish bottom without a doubt.
I'll be getting my season ticket as usual but am completely dreading next season.

| Theres more players to come in though for next year and we already have 19 contracted for 2013. Granted - it doesn't fill me with confidence either regarding our chances next season but I will wait and see who else is coming in yet.

| I reckon we need another 7 or 8 players to avoid having such a minute squad that is always pressed with injuries

| I see there is mixed feeling on here regarding the coach and next years squad Does any of you know what amount of salary cap the club have given him to spend because some may not like his new signings but if his budget is small what can he do The team wont be as bad next season but you need Chase off your books and away from the club
There won't be many clubs if any with so little to spend on the squad your ground will still be priority

| I have a feeling Millward won't be at CT for much longer. Ferres will give him the boot.

Maybe if Ferres tried to stop his media career Millward would walk?.
Whenever he's on T.V he talks a good game but doesn't appear to be able to coach one anymore.

I've little doubt Cas will have 1 of the smallest salary caps in SL but its about doing the best with what you've got. We've probably had one of the smallest caps over the last few seasons but have consistently pressed for the playoffs.
Most Cas fans were prepared to allow the on-field product to take a back seat this season provided there were developments with the new Stadium but there's been sweet F.A in that regard and if anything the new stadium looks less likely to happen than ever.
I agree it would probably make good financial sense for us to sell Chase. With the money gained from the sale and the saving on his wages we could probably get 3 or 4 very good players. I wouldn't be at all surprised though to hear the club say they were using the transfer fee to fund some fee associated with the stadium development. Which is ok if the stadium comes to fruition but as I've said - see previous paragraph...

i cant see us ever spending the full salary cap which,in my opinion,is fine if we have someone with a decent eye for talent that can spot the hardakers and hill from the championship to be snapped up rather than paying over the odds for over the hill aussies who can no longer cut it in the NRL

| The salary cap of Cas is approximately £1.3m give or take.

| Those wanting 7 or 8 new signings for next season are sadly going to be disappointed, We are apparently running with a base squad of 22 players.
We're in for another long hard season it seems.
I have no idea how Millward has kept his job, He got the job based on his Win %. As already shown, He was garbage at Wigan, North Queensland, And has been at Cas. He had easily the best squad at St Helens, And his own stupidity threw that job away, And in the Championship, There was only 2 or 3 sides that had decent squads, And he didn't win the League with Leigh.
At least with Terry Matterson, We played good rugby, The players were happy, And so were the fans barring the odd hammering.
