| Quote: Larry Billey "You are kidding , despite the scoreline and the shameful display of some seriously underprepared Castleford players, Rovers struggled to get a hold on Clark all afternoon, he was brilliant in a thrashed side in both attack and defence.
Seriously, seriously good player , Cas will do well to hold onto him...'"
They won't.

So apart from Joe Westerman, who was sold because he wouldn't sign a new contract...when was the last time Cas sold a player just to cash in?

| When was the last time we had a player we could command a fee for? Eden...nope let him away for free...shenton, also free, dorn..free(reminds me of a song) We normally offer these players a paltry sum and they sign elsewhere thus avoiding the annoyance of that pesky paperwork that comes with a transfer. ( when was the last time we paid a transfer fee)

| It's not like soccer - we don't "allow" players to go on a free, Rugby League is a slightly different contractual model in that few players have a comodity value in contract.
We didn't let Shenton go, it had run its time and we all knew he was going to sign elsewhere to challenge himself differently.
Eden, I am not sure why everyone is fretting so much - he has started OK this season, maybe he wil go on and do great, for the group with Eden in we kept the majority so you have to accept some will drift. At the time everyone was spontaniously combusting over Owen at Full Back, so we were unliklely to be able to sell two youngsters the dream and bench warming at Huddersfield is more attractive than at Cas - fact.
Dorn, now there are short memories, he was patchy at best - granted it could have been playing with Sherwin, but I didn't shed a tear and few did.

By challenge himself you mean get a wage both Cas & Wigan didn't deem him good enough to have? Hopefully next year they aren't paying him his supposed wage at St Helens!

And the testicle has replied - sue me.
So you can see as far as 2017 can you - and no contract has ever been broken or ended early.
Good for you if you keep him - now name me the last genuine starlet Cas kept for any length of time. I reckon you have to go pre SL. You have not kept for the best and bulk of their career Orr, Westerman, Shenton to name but 3 who are the stand out players who immediately spring to mind.
I realise you take everything remotely critical of Cas as a personal, but sometimes it's just the truth. The above applies to Wakefield us well, don't know if that softens the blow.

| Stay on topic - this is your first and only (pre) warning, if you want to post make sure it's about the actual topic of the thread or don't bother posting. If you're struggling to comprehend this just ask Al what's going on....hopefully the wait isn't going to be much longer.

| Shame but he is young and needs careful nurturing through these injuries to protect his further career, think Basil is right to be cautious and start to prepare him for missing the rest of the year.
As for all the other drivel on this thread, I think ex-players are like ex-mrs's and old jobs and cars, that over time people remember what they missed about them and the good, but forget the bad.
