I don't like the sound of this very much at all, NB Mods - I am not speculating to the nature of the event or repeating anything I "know" I am trying to respect the rules, but still have an opinion.

I think it will be one of 2 things:
1: A bad thing happened, Richie was daft and we have made him wash the kit for a month to say sorry - like Sarge getting done drink driving and stuff - as we have to be seen to do the right things, but essentially we value RO more than that.

Or:

2: Highly deadful - making it difficult for us to play him and he stay. Then the crushing irony that we released (in other words) Mathers not 2 weeks ago.

Be dreadful if it was 2, becuase the club will look daft and get hammered, but in actual fact today/tomorrows news has nothing to do with them, other than being the person in questions employer.

From what i have been told its more of a 2 than a 1.

I agree with you - most of what people are saying is a load of number 2 at the moment! I am number 1'ed off about it though.

I cant understand why Cas have announced they will be an internal hearing? Why not just have the hearing then announce the results/verdict.

I can't see him leaving Cas. He is Castlefords prized asset after Chase, so unless it is something so serious it is almost impossible for them to play him, he'll still be in a Cas shirt.

Cant understand Cas having a hearing so quick if the police are involved so that looks like good news there.
Most clubs wait until after court action so im expecting no further action re police,just my view on things mind.
Be interesting if it is bad and Cas keep him after the Haywood episode.

Shhhhhhhhhhh, I think it's a rumour that the police are involved.

In general terms, whenever a disciplinary investigation and a police investigation coincide over the same issue (for example an employee caught with their hand in the till) the disciplinary investigation will be deferred until the police investigation is concluded; that's often at the request of the police. I'm not sure it's a requirement, but it probably is good practice.

Hoping the gossip is a case of the "Chinese Whispers"... and the inquiry by the club is a new, tough stance by the club and coach and a warning about conduct to other squad members.

Have there been any reports in the press prior to Cas announcing the internal hearing? I'm not aware of any but it might explain why Cas would announce the fact they are holding an internal hearing.
