| It makes no difference whether he is his cousin or not, or whether he feels Chase betrayed his country. There is no place in any sport for a mindless thug who's self admitted sole intention was to deliberately injure another player. He should be looking at a lengthy ban, if not for act itself but for the admission of his intentions. He was disciplined for his cannon ball tackle on Shillington in the first game he is mental and needs stopping before he ends someone's career.

If you read a bit more of the interview, he also says that a lot of the team, including Ruben Wiki "wanted blood."
It's genuinely shocking - I'd be surprised if there aren't further repercussions.

| Having stated my feelings towards this player/the incidents involving him in the competition i have now e-mailed the club to request they apply pressure and the RFL to take further action regarding what he has since confessed to.
I respect Rangi's position to leave what happens on the field, on the field (at what point does this end - attempting to end a players career, racial abuse, homophobic abuse ???).
I feel very strongly this incident and admission made should now be taken further by the relevant parties if nothing else to reduce the risk of another players career being brought to a premature end and sending out the right signals to our youngster many of who play the game and see these players as role models.
I feel certain if the incident resulted in serious injury that ruled Rangi out of the final and/or resulted in him missing the season ahead, the England organisation and the club would have persued this matter further, the fact it didn't should not deter from the action taken.
A two game ban (that will be served in pre season friendly's) is an insult to everyone involved and after the admission made, to have even considered an appeal against the original ban is nothing short of disgracefull.
We support a game that lives by, and even more with time and experience upholds the well being of the players both physicaly and mentaly.
We as a club promote and play a recording several times a game reminding fans of the games respect policy. As a club we have been punished for misdemenours on the terraces and now its time the game took a stand against this kind of behaviour from players also.
I am not condoning these actions but we are not talking about some one retaliating or throwing a punch, we are not talking about a high tackle, we are not talking about biting, take Mr Hock's ban just as an example for gouging - after stating a certain member of the coaching team wanted blood, the man has openly admitted he tried to break his leg.
''Son you go out onto the field in your under 8's final, pick out one of the other teams most dangerous players and try and break his leg - its ok you wont get sent off your team will stand a better chance of winning and you might only miss a couple unimportant games next season as a result''.
I have taken the time, and so should they !

Yes I have read the interview, but although the others may have said things Luke was the only one who made a blatant deliberate attempt to seriously injure an opposition player. That wasn't the first and only time he tried to injure a player. Has attack on Shiilington's leg proved that. The problem with trying to take action against Wiki is that he only said something which be said in the heat of the moment or by being caught up in the emotion. For Wiki to be banned the IRL would have to prove he specifically told players to go out and injure Chase.
This was personal, plain and simple. I don't recall any New Zealander ever trying to Deliberately injure Tonie Carroll (he turned his back on them after representing them) or an Aussie try to deliberately injure Nathan Fien or Brent Webb (both Australian born)

| I am amazed the International RL boards havent come together and banned Isaac Luke from ever representing again.
There's ways to hurt players within the rules without trying to snap his leg. He is the lowest of the low, And how he only got 2 games i will never know
Also, Due to the NRL regulations. He can serve his 2 game ban in friendlies. And will not miss a match of the NRL season because of this.
Pathetic

I completely agree mate. Reflecting on the series, the last two England games in particular, they may as well just allow a free for all when it comes to foul play and tackling technique.

For me the RFL should be pushing for a tougher sentance - a 6-8 game ban would make him think twice. Players who deliberatly set out to injure fellow professional players for whatever reason should face tough punishments. What ban would he have got in the nrl or superleague??
There is no place for thugs like isaac luke in the game, reminds me of the cowardly forward leeds have in ryan bailey.
