| Glad we didn't try and get him now at the start of the season, i know we have had our fair share of trouble makers but that is absolutely cowardly and sickenining and he doesn't deserve to be a player in our respected rugby family IMO. He isn't fit enough to be a role model infront of people who look upto him, young prospects and rugby players alike.
Feel free to tell me im going over the top but am i? This week should of opened peoples eyes not only with Cokayne but also Pryce and Reardon. Also which i find sad is for is cowardly act, a young talent as now had is contract rightly ripped to shreds!

| Fully agree with Castlefords decision to terminate his contract, it was a sickening attack and will serve him right if he never get a chance to progress his career.

Last weekend the Independent did a piece having a go at Rugby League for allowing a player (Pryce) who had just admitted an assault charge and been warned by the jduge he faced a custodial sentence to continue to play pending sentencing.
At first I thought it was another example of the national press only paying attention to rugby league when it's to stick the boot in, but on reflection I think the writer had a point. If any top footballer was in the same circumstances would there not be an outcry if he was allowed to play - I think there would!

Not on the available evidence, no.

| Just out of interest (i know quite a bit about this case) does anyone know why the fight broke out with Ben, Steve and Kiel?
I'm not trying to stick up for them and i, in no way, condone what they did. However they were (albeit WAY over the top) doing the right thing

| Knocking f*ck out of someone who's already unconscious can never be called 'the right thing', no matter what the circumstances. Whatever they believed their victim might have 'deserved' or 'had coming', we have a legal framework in this country which must be adhered to.

Like i said, i don't condone what they did, but i fully agree with them stepping in. Even though i fully disagree with the extent they did it

With respect: you might- an objective court hearing which heard all the evidence, including their explanation of what they did and why, disagreed.

| Considering your club have taken this stance (even if it is right thing to do) then why did they agree terms with Cockayne last season before Rovers upped their offer

All i will say is we are all human and all will(including myself) happily sit on our pedestals and pass judgement on events such as these.
what happened that night certainly was wrong and by no means am i condoning what happened but it hasnt suprised me in the slightest that the two escaped prison.i have known much worse situations where people have also escaped prison.
as a rugby fan i would much rather concentrate on the sport.i know incidents like these at times tarnish our sport but it happens and not just to our sport but in all sports and all aspects of life.
the clubs will know more information than we do and we should trust them to make the right decision on the matter.and who knows the people involved in this incident might learn from this and be better people for it.
prison is about rehabilitation not punishment so if rehab can happen without prison then so bit it.if the clubs are gonna help the players from making the same mistakes in future then i for one wont be calling for them to be sacked.
cas have sacked the young lad so i trust they have made the right decision if hull dont sack there player then i presume strict guidelines have been placed on him to monitor his behaviour in the future.
the issue has been dealt on a legal front which is most important.

Also, although knowing Ben quite well too i would hope that HKR/RFL take the same action'"
Blimey, I hope you are choosing your mates more carefully these days.

Having just watched the video. I have to say the lad getting the kicking, sure as hell doesn't look unconscious at any time during the attack.
