| Quote tamargrace="tamargrace"rangi chase to me is probably the best stand off in super league..caused us all kinds of problems today and well done for the win. but what mcgoldrick did was an absolute disgrace...if any cas fans condone this kind of an attempt at a tackle then u r a disgrace! what was a fantastic game and atmosphere was ruined by that IDIOT! the cowardly attempts to run in after showed what he really is! well done on the win today and i hope u make the play offs!
'"
It was a dire game contested by two bad teams. The only thing that made it mildly entertaining was Cas' shocking attempts at defence and dumb attacking choices which kept the game close.
McGoldrick's tackle was a bad one and he'll quite rightly be banned for it. I'd consider it an extreme brain fart from a player who can be as brilliant on some occasions as he can be a shocking liability on others.
Generally though, there needs to be something done about why more and more players seem to be taking the laws into their own hands these days. I dare say there was an element of frustration creeping in after a number elbows and facials had been dished out to Cas players in the tackles but had gone unpunished. It wasn't long after this that it all came to a head and tempers flared. It needn't have got that far and both incidents could've been prevented.

If we're lucky we won't get there because playing as we did on Saturday it'll be simply embarassing.

More players are taking the law in to their own hands because the officials are unable/too scared to make a proper decision to sort out unlawful tactics from both sides. IMHO the sooner the officials grow a pair and give teams a warning for persistant high tackles/grapple tackles etc etc, and then follow through the warning with sin binning/sendings off the sooner we will see a better brand of RL in England and the less work the disciplinary committee will have to do
Both sides were getting away with a lot on Saturday the amount of high tackles from both sides that went unpunished was disgraceful and what Ryan did just showed how inept the refereeing standards have become

If i take the Wakey blinkers off for a moment then i'd say thats bang on, i don't like some of the things i see players doing but its down to officials letting too much go.
Both sides took it on themselves to dish it out and in the main got away with it.

| Quote Pudsey Cat="Pudsey Cat"Chase is a great player no doubt about it but the star for you guys is Widders. What a player, as soon as he came on he looked dangerous everytime he got the ball. He reminds me of solomona, not good to look at but awesome with ball in hand.
It's nice that we gave you a game because i seriously thought we would get hammered but the best thing for me at the moment is that both sets of fans are discussing/argueing about the game and not who has the best proposal for super league licences.
Good luck for the play offs, would much rather see your mob in the 8 than the cod heads.'"
It's just a shame Widders is going back to Australia after this season.

| Rangi is a star that's true and having more options around him makes those players more dangerous too - I actually though Danny Orr was our MOTM on Saturday, he was the foil in a lot of the good things we did whether he had the ball or just set up the positions.
Goldie's tackle was garbage, you have to ban that kind of tackle, I would expect 3 games minimum, but then again only giving 5 games for biting and Rangi (originally) getting 2 games for a punch means that the rules are all over the option.
3 games would seem right to me, dangerous tackle, regardless of the outcome, which was no injury and no harm done, you can't give a sanction based on the outcome..... Even if an injury to Henderson had occurred, which I am glad it didn't cos they're both great blokes away from the field, you can't adjust the penalty to match the outcome.

Bonz as an ex-RL official do you know if the tackle that Goldy did is actually a rule breaking challenge or will the RFL make a new rule up to suit (as with the so-called 'Ninja' tackle) ,Just wondering ???

I think by current interpretations it was a grapple tackle, however the 'dumping' action is more akin to a spear tackle, although it lacked the lifting beyond horizontal required for it to be deemed as such. It certainly falls into the categories of a dangerous tackle and an attack to the head which could easily cause injury. There's a sufficient breach of the rules to dish out a multiple-match ban in my opinion, without 'making a new rule up to suit' as you say. I guess we'll have to wait and see...

| McGoldrick has been let of with just a caution, so the RFL can't have deemed it too serious.

Cheers for that Bonz ,Makes it a bit clearer for me ,i suppose the 'dangerous tackle' wording can cover a wide spectrum of offences
