I'm sorry but I really can't see how you've reached that conclusion. Leaving aside my conviction that Hardaker did, indeed lose consciousness (which is all McDermott said, the legality of how the blow landed was something he declined to comment on) how do you think any of this influenced the disciplinary?

Chase's shoulder made contact with the head of Hardaker. This is what he's been charged with. If Hardaker's twitter testimony was behind this (as far fetched as that is as a concept anyway) would he not have been charged with an elbow.

Like it or not, Chase has been charged and punished in line with everyone else put before the beak for the same offence. I fail to see, in that case, how what anyone has said in the press constitutes "fitting him up." No evidence was planted, no false statements given to the authorities. No fit up.

Dr El Diablo's recommendations:

Ban shoulder charges.

Stop banning people for them until you do.

Ban BDL rugby players and coaches from discussing their jobs on twitter.

The only way I can respond is to either drag in someone else without their consent or to quote the old cliche "I know stuff I can't say on here", neither of which are tactics I want to stoop to.
