| I'm a Wakefield fan and I thought Thaler was poor tonight, unfortunately for Cas most of the vital decisions that were wrong cost Cas and helped Warrington.

| I really can see Wire doing big things this term .
Rhinos will not finish the season empty-handed though .. Guaranteed . (we won the Lazenby cup a couple of weeks ago ) . I wouldn't be surprised to see Cru in the 8 .
I'd pay plenty to see Cas and Cru at OT

| How did the Wire manage to finish the game with Carvell and Morley. On another day both could have been sent off for bad tackles.Don't think they have heard the last of it though.Hard luck Cas and good luck for the future, but not against the Black and Whites

Very marginal incidents that hardly constituted offences. Thaler got this mostly right, though he did give a penalty against Morley. Worst 'offence' of the night was McGoldrick striking out at King just 'cause he got tackled in goal - far worse than Morley or Carvell.

| thought carvell should have gone to the bin at least, he led with the elbow end of! thought the game were decent, but thaler were poor. we didnt help ourselves though. took my old fella tonight (he's a wire fan) and commented to him when Briers scored that we did the exact same against wire last year, silly long ball and a lurking briers picks it off and goes in for a score. good crowd considering many were predicting we'd be lucky to get 5.5k through the gate.
as for the argument that seemed to rage prior to the game westerman or harrison. westy has a good set of hands (shame about the feet!!) and gets about the field, harrison on the other hand on tonights evidence should be in the second row. didnt really see any ball handling from him and he seemed to be used as a battering ram mainly. if he's got skills then tony smith needs to utilise them more.
cant wait for the rematch in july, hopefully we'll both still be doing well and it'll be another decent game, hopefully with a reversed scoreline

| Firstly, the positives - Cas had a strong game, defence at many times of the game was superb, as was comittment and fitness levels. A lot that Cas can build on from here
Now the OK's, but in need of improvement.....our kicking game basically. Not creative enough, not accurate enough, often too flat so the guys couldn't get onto the ball with forward momentum to bowl over stationary opposition. Hudson...by no means bad, but he just didn't seem to be tuned in. He just wasn't all that lively, sharp and had a glazed look in his eyes.
Now the bad....what can I say...Thaler. Nothing positive about Thaler at all tonight, not that Ian Smith helped him at all as video ref. For those who went to the game and also recorded it. Watch for the Carvell head lunge into Huby's chin 34 seconds into the game. It's not quite a head butt...however he lunges his head towards Huby's face in the tackle, he was obviously well wound up. 3 minutes later the elbow into Jackson's face was disgracefull, more so by Thaler for doing absolutely nothing despite the stoppage of the game giving ample time to consider and to communicate the right action.....he didn't even speak to Carvell, to advise of his technique.
The Morley, elbow drop onto McGoldrick....again a disgusting reaction by Morley, at least a sin bin required. 10 minutes later the late/high tackle by Morley on Sherwin. It wasn't a matter of 'already being committed to the tackle!!' If Sherwin had kept the ball, Morley's arm wa still way to high for a legal tackle. Again, there's no excuse for it, and again Thaler having warned Morley for the elbow issue a few minutes earlier failed to take sufficient action.
Matt King. Watch the 69th minute when Matt King is tackled by Liam Higgins. When King gets up from the tackle he goes looking for Higgins after playing the ball. Higgins being one of the cleanest players in the game, just gets on with the game and jogs away.
3 minutes later, King still wound up, is involved with McGoldrick. McGoldrick, (who had a good game!!) no doubt should not have lashed out at King. However, McGoldrick seems to be taking exception to his body position in the tackle. His legs are up in the air with his weight on the side of his neck. No excuse for lashing out, however it's not a good position to be in with the weight of 2 players then on top of you. Hence the frustration, especially after the Morley elbow incident a few minutes earlier.
All in all, a good performance by Cas. Wires, as a top 3 rated team, were not special in any way. Thaler got it wrong, way to many times!!!... he also failed to take action, failed to communicate with the players and completely lost the plot and lost control of the game at times. A draw might well have been a fair result. I left the game, not at all disheartened by Cas....just disappointed with the way the game was / wasn't reffed!

Only seen it once, but with the McGoldrick/King incident watch where Kings hand goes, on the first viewing it looked a lot like Kings hand went straight towards McGoldricks crotch, which on top of being pinned up on the side of your neck would wind you up quite a lot.

Ridiculously partisan.

| Castleford gave the game to Warrington, simple really.
Too many little decisions went Warrington way.
Good effort Cas, hope you do well this season. Any chance we could sign Westerman off you please ?

Give over, McGoldrick spends half the game niggling and winding up other players, then whinges when he gets it back, try watching it with you're eyes open. He does more harm than good for Cas.

Ouch..... the grapes are particularly sour in West Yorkshire it would appear.
You lost, get over it. Your line speed in defence was the stand out part of your game (more in the first half) but your execution of plays wasn't good enough (the words of Terry Matterson just in case your wondering) and thats why you lost. You can sit and analyse the game with your finger on the pause button to your hearts content, blaiming shots by Morley, Carvell etc blah blah blah, as well as Thaler, but its pointless.
Its a good job your coach doesn't share your bitter views against a team that deserved to beat you or your team would never progress in SL.
