| I have been a cas fan for a long time, the players that took to the field this year need to stand back and take a good look at them selves and give it all they have and stop blaming things on Millward this as been going on for as long as i can remember the players are paid well for playing a game most of us have played for the fun of it so if they do not want to play because they do not like the boss then they should try a 40 hour week for £6 per hour

| Ian Millward needs to earn respect? for real? Lets not forget he is a coach with 2 Super League Titles, 2 Challenge Cups and a World Club Challenge trophy in the bank, yes with a good set of players at St Helens but you still have to win them, whats wrong with a coach wanting to install a bit of professionalism to the squad? if your players don't want to act professional for an established club like Cas then its pretty much a waste of time.

You don't get respect by treating your squad like dirt.
All those trophies were over a decade ago too, look what he's done with full time teams since:
Wigan - 12 games 3 wins
North Queensland - 14 games 2 wins
Cas - 28 games 6 wins (missed 2? games though so 6 from 26)
43 losses, wow massive respect! Even if you add in his Saints record he's barely over 50%.
So a poor coach who treats his players like dirt should get automatic respect, right oh! He should have never got the job and he should have been sacked after the Fev debacle.

| I think it's a little tough on Millward to make that call as yet. Bearing in mind our back line was decimated by injuries, suspensions to certain 'key' players, and the death of the guy's son.... Surely this is as disruptive to the other squad members as any issues over mutual respect? Mix in making 1 month loan signings to patch up a busted squad, it's a little harsh to berate the coach for losses.
I think looking at the positives, the injuries etc gave academy players much needed first team experience which will in theory make them stronger players at first team level for this season. added to the signings Millward has made, I think we need to start judging from this point onwards.
However I think one shoddy season is enough. Any signs of the 'turmoil' we have experienced this year should signal the end of his contribution to the club, which has as yet been minimal

| 6 games max - and if he hasn't performed it should be bye-bye.

| ^^ agree entirely.
Although we need to be realistic about these 6 games - for example - wigan warrington salford wakefield saints - we would be looking for a minimum of two wins.
Under Matterson last year we had won 6 drawn 1 and lost 1 from our first 8 games and were top of the league. the basic reason for the moderate success is that we won the winnable games more often than not - and had a full squad to pick from

| Although alot will depend on results I think lest season the team (for most of the time) didn't look interested. If he can't change this he should go. If the performance is there (but maybe not the results) he should be given a chance.

| Players need to respect coach, management and what the club is trying to achieve and the shirt or THEY should go.
Simple as that for me, that is how tough groups are created.

In a real world yes - totally agree, but particularly in sport, it doesn't always work like that. Player power has a lot to answer for. Sometimes a group of players like to think they are untouchable. They think they cannot be replaced because the market isn't there to replace them with.

Which is why Tigerade I think you either allow it and always side with the players and they run the club, or you break it once and for all.
In my view, we are a long way down the club and management group is king route - so we should persist with it, for the long term.

| Agreed - and on top of that most of the "ring-leaders" have gone. We should persist with that route - but maybe with a better coach.
