| Quote vastman="vastman"For the past 10 years with the odd exception Wakey have been turning up at WR and handed you your backsides on a plate. It's to be hoped we never actually win by playing well or we will put a 100 past you
Seriously we did play well as we usually do against you.
FWIW the big difference was fitness. We looked a fit well drilled Pro RL team. We looked bigger, stronger, fitter and faster. You looked like a lardy pub team and from your perspective that is unforgivable. Fitness is the one thing a club can control unlike team moral, skill levels and team play which are hugely variable. You need to sort it out because being Classy Cas for 20 minutes won't beat anybody these days.'"
We probably have the smallest team in the league....and yes the fitness wasn't there either, a fair few were walking after 15 minutes.
The big laugh is that Millward said he would improve the defence and fitness

| We concede at least 40 just about every week so I'm beyond embarrassment and looking at the balance/quality of the respective line-ups I expected pretty much what we got.....although the margin actually flattered us. But make no mistake Wakey are a good side getting better and it would be wrong to attribute the scoreline solely to our failings when they've done a similar job on the champions less than a week before.
For me the performances of each side were reflective, and the result, of differing club mentalities. Wakey have brought players in to invigorate, and probably extend, their season while we have let players go to end ours prematurely.

| We played okay-ish up to the point of their first (foot short) try... then the heads went down. What disappointed me most was the way they utterly failed to come out in the second half. I was at least expecting a bit of a fightback with them playing towards the WRE but there was nothing, absolutely nothing, until the game was gone and Wakey switched off.
Even so, lowest point? Nah. Have we forgotten the loss at Fev? The drubbing at Caravan Park? We didn't ship 70 yesterday and we didn't lose to a Championship side. We simply didn't bother performing at the end of a non-event season and lost a game as a result. It's nothing new this year is it?

I think Nick Youngquest is going to be a male model.

| I don't get the fitness arguement at all.
When you came to us and hammered us to be honest, there was an out cry about fitness. Now its the other way round.
I'm no sports scientist but I'm pretty sure personal fitness cannot turn round that much.
It is how you control the game that makes the other team work harder. Simple as that. If you can play efficiently and force the other team to work harder, they will look less fit than you but if you put them all through a fitness test there is no way one side would come out higher than the other. Players would be good and bad on both sides.

TBF I said they looked unfit and flabby, whether they actually are I don't know. Looks can be deceiving I know and some fatty's go well, it was just a general impression.
Also I agree they looked fit enough at our place, but yesterday they just didn't.
That said we'd still have beaten them fit or not.

| Cas looked crackered after 20 minutes because all they'd done was defend; that takes it out of players both mentally and physically. Not necessarily a fitness issue, just a function of what happened on the day.
I was sorry to see Huby go off with a knock - he always strikes me as an honest, hard-working player and a decent bloke. Is there any news?

Maybe, but one or two looked plain flabby to me - Huby for one but as a Prop it's probably OK. The winger on the other hand, that's just wrong.

Williams is decent player. He's like Dean Widders - deceptively fast even though his appearance may not indicate it.

Him and Ellis - the two players who looked the most out of condition - were your main attacking threats.
Maybe there's something in the Huby Plan diet?!

| Huby is by far our best prop always gives 100% tackles like an absolute machine and takes at least 3 defenders with him when carrying the ball.
