The "reports" the MEN are using are from Dave Parker who took the Danny Brough to Wigan rumour and decided that wasn't good enough so changed it to Rangi Chase.

Players leaving because they aren't happy is a sensationalisation of Cas looking to offload/not renew contracts of up to 12 players.

In order to get Rangi Chase it would involve buying out his contract, so ~600k....nobody will pay that.

To be fair though - if Wigan offered 600k for Chase, how many people would take it?

Personally, I would - then I'd invest the lot in the playing squad and get 4 players of a high calibre with the money.

And even if they did Cas couldn't use it to pay players salaries above the salary cap.
i.e. transfer fees do not count on the salary cap.

They could use the extra money on signings for next year though.

Cas are spending well under the cap so that money coming in + the wage he's on could improve the squad no end.
