| I think, if we look at Terry's tenure it has been successful, we have had highs and lows of course, but if you offered me the position we are in now, with the young and local players we have now and the core of fed trained players who seem content to stay here - I would have taken it.
Off the field I think our progress has been limited, but the stability in the playing, coaching and development staff must be in larger and smaller ways part of Terry's remit.
On top of it all, whenever I have spoken to him, he seems a decent guy who works hard for us and hasn't taken it too personally to be professional, but personally enough to care and make those around him care.
Will be missed, seems the right time to change and I hope he lands a top job in Aus...... After he augment's his CV with a playoff campaign for us this season; I hope the boys get together and as well as working hard to achieve something for themselves, they repay some of TM's loyalty by achieving something for him too.

Put it this way, we are in a better position now than we were when he first took over. I wish him well and hope he can achieve some good things in the NRL. As for a replacement, id love Noble at Cas.'"
Agreed, especially with regard to timing...recent issues such as keeping a crocked Youngquest on the field at Salford for 65 mins and declaring Friday's score to be unrepresentative of the play had led me to conclude he must be so worn out he's started sleeping through games.

| In my humble opinion I think TM has been Cas' best coach since Daryl Van Der Velde and best ever Super League coach - and I know many will disagree. He has worked wonders with very limited resources and the threat of relegation / no franchise as a constant cloud. I know the fans loved Aaron Raper, I did too, but the environment was a very different one.
Thank you TM, I for one am very grateful for what you have done for our club. Its in a hell of a lot better state than in 2005!

TBH, I never thought Aaron Raper was more than an OK hooker. His big brother Stuart was a top coach though. With TM not far behind in second. imho.

If the club has any sense, they'll throw his hat back at him and send him on his way.

| Despite being baffled by some of his team selections over the years, I think TM has done a great job with what he's had, on whole we have always tried to play attacking rugby, which is great to see. I can only wish Terry all the best for the future, and I am sure we will see him go on to be a sucess in the NRL in future years.
For all of you who have been saying how we will be much better of without TM, we are about to find out. Hope you were all right.

What qualifications has John Kear's friend got to be head coach of a SL team?

Obviously far too old to coach a team in SL then.

| FYI, I am aware the Gold Coast Titans have spoken to Matterson. I'm not sure about which position there though.
There are probably others who may have had a chat. Maybe he could go back to his old clubs, Brisbane, Roosters or even the Bulldogs as he's a Canterbury junior.
