| Quote: Bonzo "Since when was the ball going backwards a knock-on? He ripped it backwards, it moved backwards, no problem.
I don't think Wakey fans can be disgruntled with the officials - Kear says you didn't get the rub of green. Fair enough, you didn't for about ten minutes; you did for the other 70 with unpunished laying on in the tackle, facials and elbows on the floor, etc.
There was however one glaring inconsistency, that being the penalty that gave you the 30-28 lead. I've absolutely no issue with the penalty being awarded - it was daft (by McGoldrick again) and a clear penalty. The issue is that interference with the first marker wasn't dealt with at all during the game and Cas were subjected to it two or three times per set every time Wakey were in posession. If we're going to punish these things and try and clean up the scrappy ruck (the current disease of Super League) then let's be consistent about it and deal with it from the kick off, rather than letting it escalate to a point where it might decide a game in the last ten minutes through frustration and stupidity.'"
talking about consistancy how was youngquest yellow carded for holding down for a shorter time than a wakey player did when we broke and were on there line, no wonder he looked confused.
As for the whole game we were very poor and could have easily thrown the game away, two of the tries we (rightly) had chalked off as forward could have easily been scored with a legal pass, but at the end of the day we got 2 pointgs with a patchwork team and 4 frontrowers out. Hopefully jackson, arundel and clarke will all be back next week.

I think that was because he did it straight after Mr Silverwood had called out both Captains for persistent infringements and issued a final warning - Youngquest left him with little choice.

Doesnt explain why cas didnt get a penalty when a wakey player held down longer, if that wasn't a penalty then there is no way that the youngquest incident should have been a penalty no matter how many warnings have been issued. This sort of inconsistency is exactly the problem most people complain about.

It is indeed, but given that your winning try resulted from a player stepping into touch and Mr McThugrick should have left the field, I don't think you've got too much to complain about.
I agree with the general point though - there really is no excuse for the kind of inconsistencies we're subjected to on a weekly basis; ironically, we seem to be two teams who have suffered more than others - our curtain raiser at MW was an absolute shambles, thanks to Mr Childs.

If your talking about the owen incident (which wasn't the wining try) he did step into touch but a penalty for a high tackle took precedence, it was a fairly harsh penalty, but owen had suffered a couple much worse earlier in the game which had gone unpunished so its swings and roundabouts.

| Firstly, how Chissitt hasn't been banned from here I don't know. Having to read his posts really degrades the forum, and I would imagine puts many genuine fans who want to join in with reasoned discussion off logging on here.
The game at the weekend seemed pretty straightforward to me. Both teams were poor defensively. The result could have gone either way. The penalty awarded to Cas for Tadulala making contact with Owen's head was correct (yes, he was ducking; yes, it was probably not intentional but the rule is clear - ANY contact with the head/neck during the tackle is a penalty even if the tackler is simply 'careless'). As foul play over-rides technical infringements (going out of play) and penalties are awarded for foul play even when the ball is dead, the referee was clearly correct to award the penalty.
However, the game could have gone either way. Castleford should count themselves lucky, and Wakefield unlucky. Maybe a draw would have been a 'fair' result but that's sport for you!

| When all said and done, if our winger had copped a crack on't 'ed like that I would have been calling for a penalty. Both sides should accept that in a very even and hard-fought contest Cas edged it - it could have been the other way, but it wasn't. Cas have the bragging rights until next season, and we can look forward to another cracker as we try and get them back.
I'm fed up of fans from all teams having what they think is a forensic analysis of key moments, but in reality is using super slo-mo of a split second moment out of 80 minutes play to show why 'we wuz robbed'. And, when someone DARES to offer a slightly different view, we get the playground bitchfest which is NOT in keeping with the attitude of the people who care most and are directly involved - the players! They pick themselves up, grit their teeth, shake hands and acknowledge the efforts of the other team, win or lose.
The worst thing is, you can't reason with them! Even if the 'opponent' is a moderator, reasonable(usually!) AND has more than an average fans knowledge of the game it just carries on!
No wonder so many threads get locked! (Hint!)

4652.gif I wouldn't bother reading this bit, there is nothing interesting, witty or insightful down here, just this collection of boring words explaining that you really are wasting your time browsing this signature in the vain and futile hope that there will be a nugget, nay, a veritable goldmine of witticisms or divine philosophy. In reality, all you're going to get is disappointment, a sense of hopelessness and a random word.

One of the reasons why I don't post as often as I used to, every thread seems to degenerate into petty squabbles. You can't raise any point/issue without someone retorting with personal insults instead of a having a rational debate. This applies to 'supporters' of most clubs including our own.

I agree completely, I try and post as balanced as I can and just ignore the petty personal stuff now, I like other people's balenced view of what they consider the reality of a situation is..... of course if they don't agree with me they are simply trolling morons and if they do agree with me then thats perfect and whats more they are right!!!

Usually resorting to insults means that person is losing the debate.
Thats why I am immune to insults.
