I once drove within 50 miles of CP on game day and the queue for season ticket holders only was phenomenal, their average is nearer the 125,000 mark I suspect!
Not content with silly point scoring about who's going to get a new stadium, you have to bring KR into it!
I hope you both get a decent stadium and soon although i enjoy visiting BV and The Jungle

| LE has an interview with Rodney Walker in which he makes it very clear there is an opening for Cas in the new stadium project - very interesting.

Just posted on another thread, that Wright fella from Cas certianly did not rule out a ground share on SL show. He just said "difficult for the fans"

Only time will tell but I would much prefer not to share

TBH the vibes I'm getting is that it is Cas who need the lifeline not the project. Clearly from the developers point of view two is better than one.
If I were Cas fans I'd start to think outside the box and prepare yourselves for the unthinkable.
Please note, not claiming insider knowledge but reading/hearing what Walker/Wright have said both are leaving their options VERY VERY open especially RW who seemed utterly intractable a few weeks ago.

I'll decline to comment on what I think Richard Wright's thinking, but any groundshare is bound to be taken by fans as Step 1 towards a merger. I could be wrong but given the choice:
a) Watch (what would inevitably become) Wakeford Trinity Tigers playing in Super League, or
b) Watch Castleford RL play in the Championship
... I'm pretty sure most Cas fans would prefer 'b' to 'a'. With that in mind, Wright must know that if he's forced into moving over to (eg) Stanley, he'd by and large be moving a dead duck.
However I'm still not at all sure it will come to that. It seems to me that Walker could be 'putting out feelers' - perhaps because he knows he can't deliver Stanley on his own? I don't take League Express, but I've not seen or read anything to suggest that Cas are diverting their energies away from Glasshoughton just yet.
As I said, if Wakey are dependant on a share with Cas to get their new ground then that's their problem and theirs alone. Still, nice try though...

There is a third option and that would be to join forces with Fev in their
new stadium.

If the clubs did merge, I would stop going. Would be crap!
As for the ground, Wakey would be able to go alone and don't need Cas. I believe it would be a bigger benefit to have a ground each but hey that's just me.

| Personally I don't see merger at all - I think that is a huge leap. What I do see is a development that clearly has legs and one that seems to be getting a warm reception from all concerned at the top end.
Truth is two stadiums within 3 miles of each other in the current economic climate would be very hard to justify, especially one that sits almost exactly between the two conurbations.
Further to this it's worth noting that the Stanley development is on what is now very cheap land. Whilst the Glasshoughton site is now well advanced and doesn't really need a stadium as a piece. I'd imagine the land value at Glasshoughton is currently far higher making that stadium a more expensive option. Added to that the Glasshoughton site only seems to have space for a stadium rather than a full blown sports village, I may be wrong there but that's how it looks to me.
For my money a shared Stadium must look very plausible to a lot of movers and shakers who think with their heads rather than fans who think with their hearts.
I'm not a developer but to me it's starting to look like a real attractive possibily from their angle.

| Completeley agree with you vasty (never thought id say that lol) the only thing thats not ringin true is the 12000 bit if it was to be shared surely they could stretch to 16000 this way it could be a gig venue serving all west yorkshire to pay the bills , gets my vote !!

I think that figure would be more likely for a shared venue, of that I have no doubt.
