| The common thread in this is booze. I like a pint at a game when I'm not driving, and I've been to every Grand Final but not sure I can remember any of them, and so I'm not being holier than thou about this. I just don't know how you get the balance right between letting people have a pint and allowing people to get out of control.
Maybe we ought to think about the football line and not allow alcohol in sight of the pitch if in the open air (just making Cats Bar stays open!). That would be a real shame, but if we are going to market ourselves as the family game, we can't allow people to get drunk and out of control at the game. If the people hadn't had the bottles with them on the terraces, there would have been nothing to throw and nothing to worry about. It would have been just lots of shouting.
And before anyone says anything, I know that would get rid of most of the beer places at Belle Vue, but I go there for the rugby, and could last eighty minutes without a pint.

| I can see the club going down the route of banning beer in the ground again. It is a lot easier to punish everyone than to actualy investigate and find who the small minority of moron's were that threw these bottles.
So the only other thing to do is punish them and the people like myself that just enjoy a couple of beers whilst watching the game that would never dream of throwing anything or causing trouble.

| Quote: Le Tigres "How come no-one in the media was calling for Leeds fans to be banned when they threw bottles on our pitch a few years ago? Not to say it's right, and that the few Cas fans weren't acting like idiots, but why is it that when we do it everyone is up in arms?
Likewise when Salford fans were throwing bottles and flares at their own team at the Jungle earlier this year - hardly a mention in the press. I am not condoning any of the idiots (should be banned for life) but we need to get some perspective. It was a few mindless idiots who were incensed by the referee and then further incensed by the Catalan players making rude gestures and smirking at the crowd instead of just walking away - I hope the RFL in their investigation also look at this.

probably so, you see there's always people who cant handle beer, they drink too much and the the brain disengages, i like a good old wet, but i dont even bother at games, whats the use of being pi$$ed out of your mind so that you cant comprehend whats going on ? why pay the entrance fee ? i really struggle to.... well i cant think what goes through their tiny pea brain minds

They were! But as they were visitors and not us it wasnt as high profile amongst. Leeds should have lost 2 league points, as should Salford this year and now us. Unless something strong is done and security stepped up, the morons who used to go to football but have been marginalised in that game will pop up in RL grounds.
It sounds extreme, but our games reputation is so valuable and needs protecting with all we have got.

too right we are supposed to be a family sport, not what we need to promote the game or the club anyone seen doing this should be banned for life............and id suggest RW get that short arm in those deep pockets and get a cctv system sorted its not so expensive anymore in the big scheme of things. tight fisted moron will probably but one from Argooooooooooos

It would be very hard to enforce that rule though in a stadium like wheldon road or belle vue or knowsley road... any ground really where there is a standing section as its to easy to hid behind others out of view...
would be alot easier in a n all seater stadium with cctv and a decent set of stewwards.
(and that it not me having ago about whos getting a stadium first or any of that malakry lol)
