| Nothing to moan about - not a 1 yr extension or anything plastic, this is a long term deal from a player who could probably have got on most run on teams in SL and got a deal in Oz.
We talk about ambition and looking forward, what more do you want as an opening salvo.
Add to this in the coming weeks some contract extensions for younger players then it sends all the right messages in my opinion. I think this is the long term view that the signings we should trumpet are the retention and building ones, people coming in from outside are important, but not the primary driver.
Good start, good statement and I agree though that talk is cheap and it needs to be followed through - But I woudl rather see us do things well rather than do things quick.

45047_1329226743.jpg The saying 'bent as a 9 bob note' has now been dropped.....corrected phrase is 'bent as the RFL!':d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_45047.jpg |

| Perhaps in the background there has been a massive amount of interest in Rangi from other clubs, and serious offers talked about behind closed doors etc.
Hence, we have only been privy to a small part of what has really been going on. As a result the 'punchline' to the story isn't quite as exciting to us, as it has been to those who've been part of the full saga.
I am however pretty sure that RW has promised us that our coach would be of the calibre to entice 3 or 4 top quality players with him to Cas. Also the words 'quality not quantity' spring to mind. Let's hope he can stretch the quantity to more than 1 though!

| I cannot understand the negativity of some supporters with the announcement of Rangi agreeing to stay with us until the end of season 2015. The board have made a statement that they want to keep our prized asset when a load of other clubs wanted to lure him away, i for one applaud them for retaining him. People state that they have known for weeks that he was staying because of the reports they had heard, may i remind them that Hull FC and Agar himself stated they had no intention of signing Westerman but we all know what the outcome of that was. Also there has been speculation all season that Rangi was going to Leeds in exchange for Rob Burrow, this is now definitely a dead duck. Several people have stated that they would not renew their season tickets if Senior was signed, i therefore assume that you all know better than the people running the club or Millward if he chose to sign him or other players you didn't agree with. How many of you knew how good Rangi was before he displayed his talents and to those who think top class signings are guarenteed to bring success may i you remind of a certain Bob Lidner who was one of the best Aussie international loose forwards who came to Cas for a holiday. I suggest you all wait and see what the new coach and the BOD do before writing them off, you are supposed to support your team in all circumstances.

Your missing the point, The club said we were signing a star! we have extended a contract! We were misled and the club are to blame.
Not one person has said the news is bad but only that the news is not what was promised!

| We have on our hands one of the greatest RL talents on the planet,Albert Goldthorpe medal winner, shortlist for man of steel, played and starred for the Exiles, who knows he may get called into the NZ Four nations squad and this player has committed himself to us for a further two years, any of the top clubs in this country, and Oz, would have him in their team, but they don't,we do,lets revel in that fact and hope that more good news is on the horizon.

And with widders and Eden gone, Fozzard and Aspinwall on their way it seems we are only replacing what is leaving thus not having a big enough squad to cope again, ok we were unlucky with injuries but then again we were the season before, what is to say we wont be "unlucky" next year, every other team is improving around us and we need to keep up with the jones's

| I think there is more to come. We certainly haven't started yet. This is just getting the vital cog in place. I can see another couple of signings coming in soon.
