You do know there's an excellent bus service from Wakefield centre to Glasshoughton, don't you?

huddersfield academy first
Published Date: 27 March 2007
Andy Raleigh
Born: 17 March 1981,
Position(s): Second row
Squad number: 12
Previous clubs: Giants Academy, Sheffield Eagles, Hull KR
Andy Raleigh set the National Leagues alight after flying the Giants' Academy nest, appearing in both the NL1 and 2 dream teams in three back to back years, and scooping the NL1 player of the year and player's player plaudits in 2005 before returning to Huddersfield to take on Super League. Strong and impressive, Raleigh is appearing in many mystics crystal balls for future international recognition

| Quote Gaslight="Gaslight"What makes your argument even less substance because I'm pretty sure Cas have never gone to sport England asking for funding.
To further disprove your absurd argument, facilities for the whole district could be based in Castleford because it's quite central and has easy access, so you can't just say it's for an associate town.'"
So your prediction for a November start on the stadium still stands then?

Yep, the current word at Waystone is still November to Jan start - there's a bit more clearing to be done then it's time for the foundations.

| You're right there is a lot more clearing of the site to be done , I suppose that's why the excavator has disappeared from the pit stack .

Architect appointed ?
Structural Engineer appointed ?
Ground stabilization complete ?
I think you're being optamistic for even a Jan start on the foundations.

At the minute there's 2 options in terms of architect - there's appoint one and get a new design specific to CTRLFC or buy an existing design such as the Keepmoat which does away with the need of an architect - just the structural engineer (as far as I'm aware).
The Nov-Jan start is the ground stabilization and foundation works, then from then on depending on weather conditions a stadium would take between 9-14 months.
This may be some insight to a few people on here but the cost of a stadium (a basic one) is roughly £1m per 1000 seats, so at the minute there will need to be ~£13m for the stadium at J32 to be built.

It's all well and good saying this, but you have to ask why this hasn't been done. The design is going to have to be specific to Cas due to the swimming pool that the council have now inputted at J32.
As for the cost, it's not going to be all-seater and you've forgot to take into consideration inside costs, the actual structure etc.
It'll be nearer £15-£20m for me.

.. Assuming the pool is integral to the structure of one of the stands. If it's housed in an adjacent building however...
