| I doubt anything will come of this as I think they would rather share with Fev than Cas! This is just Wakey keeping their options open.
What happened to Oakwell anyway?

| Did anyone bother to read beyond the headline and what the newspaper spin used to catch people's attention?
Read the actual quotes and tell me where JE says anything about sharing at GH.
rlhttp://www.independent.co.uk/sport/general/rugby-league/wakefield-wildcats-will-consider-groundshare-with-castleford-tigers-2224618.htmlrl
Is it this bit?:
"I think that any shared facility would have to be in a fairly neutral location."
or this?:
"I think Castleford are well on their way with their planning, but I have no idea when they are planning their build."
or this?:
"The difficult part of that question is if there's no stadium to share, where are we going to play?"
or perhaps here?:
"We need to speak to Castleford, to Featherstone and the council and find out exactly where everybody is and reassess everything, because if we can find out, we can start our stadium build in six months and then move forward."
He's not ruling out the possiblity of sharing, but where is there any suggestion that could be at GH?
Posters onhere have clearly shown how a 'share' at GH could never work for WTW.
Panic over. As you were.

Goodbye all. It was nice knowing most of you.: |

Yes, but Ted said no way, and the new regime have now NOT ruled it out.

Is it this bit?
You've obviously never exited the M62 at junction 32. There is more signage to say you're in Wakefield than there is to say you're in Castleford. Wait until they spin you that one...
Quote: coco the fullback "
or this?
Which means that a simple phonecall can set that one straight.
Quote: coco the fullback "
or this?
This is just playing with words. What SL club would ever sell its own stadium before it had somewhere else to go, either of its own or in a definite groundshare agreement?
Quote: coco the fullback "

In other words, as the title of the thread so succinctly put it
As highlighted above
Quote: coco the fullback "

On the contrary, it seems that there is a groundswell of opinion that you could rent our ground.
Quote: coco the fullback "

No panic, just a discussion.

| Personally it seems like they're trying to make the club sound like a positive, forward-thinking business, rather than the mess Ted Richardson created. I have no problem with them finally coming around to the idea that Glasshoughton is the best possible location in the entire country for a sports stadium, and I don't mind them putting in money to help us build/run it. We would be mad not to let them play in our stadium.

| Exactly what Gazemous says, they are trying to look progressive ,they are just trying to score brownie points for the people at Red Hall.
What was that bit about finding out were we, Fev & the council about?....and that bit where we can start on our own build in six months?, how can he put a timescale on something that at the moment is completely out of their hands?
Elston sounds full of it and is trying to distract from our plans which (finally) seem to be dropping into place.
Our B.O.D's should ignore the "look at us" article and continue as planned.

| It seems worrying that there appears to be no reward within the criteria (perhaps someone can point out if my interpretation is incorrect) for owning and playing in your own stadium, within the area with which the club identifies.
E.g. Wakefield playing in a rented premier sports stadium in Barnsley versus Castleford playing in a club owned old stadium in Castleford, with (one assumes at the time of license allocation) a club owned stadium in Castleford being built. I believe the licensing criteria would score Wakefield stronger on this point which doesn't seem right.

I agree- if you own your own stadium and its up to scratch (and actually exists) then not only should you score an extra franchise point but the RFL should give you access to more internationals, keeping as much money as possible in RL.
It irks me when fans from other clubs gloat about 'their' shiny stadia when in reality they're nothing more than paying guests. Before you start, yes I know that's where Wakey are headed, but if any club has had the business sense to fund their own stadium they should get recognition for it.

30k a game is cheap compared to what some teams get billed for renting a stadium.

Turn right and it says welcome to Pontefract, Turn left and it says welcome to Castleford.......?? No signage at all to say you're in Wakefield?
