yes it was wainny is not fast at all remembe rthe many occassions he has been through the line for him only to cut in field as he does not have the pace to make the line.
shenny is our fastest player!!

| I've heard quite a lot of people saying that Wainwright is one of our fastest players. I would imagine Fordy, Shenny and Owen are faster though.
I'd like to see Ford get some more game time, I reckon he has potential to be a decent player.

| Quote: Gaslight "The biggest problem with Wainwright is probably his decision making, he seems to just run in straight lines and not bother changing direction when he makes a break, an example of that would be last year against Leeds when he ran over the top of Webb, then carried on in the straight line he was on before knocking Webb over, then getting dragged down, when a swerve would have probably seen him score.'"
Maybe more a lack of confidence? to be fair, its not often Wainwright finds himself in those sorts of positions

| Wainwright is as good a back-up winger as we could hope for - brave, strong, hardworking and a decent finisher. If we'd have had another 12 like him against Saints their winning margin would have been at least halved, the guy just never gives in and his consistency - albeit at an average level of quality - is outstanding. His problems are slowness to turn and a lack of height for dealing with the high ball but IMO Ford has to improve a bit more yet before he would get the nod ahead of him.

Also would suggest that he could do with bulking up a bit, he is very lean compared to other wingers

| Fair enough, Wainwright could do with another yard of pace IMO. But his work rate and passion is always fantastic. He always runs hard at the defence, never sherks responsibilty and is never affraid to come inside and take a little pressure off the forwards when its needed. Nobody can fault the pride and passion in which he weers the Cas shirt IMO.
Keep it up lad!!

| James Ford isnt just a playing asset but he will be great with the youth players coming through. He has a degree and hes a very knowledgable man on the sport and health front i.e. teaching at the sports college for many years. He is a good asset to Cas!

| He really needs to pick up his positional play. I lost count of how may times he was caught out at the Murrayfield Magic, he had a stinker. Well taken try though.

| Thought he stood up well last night even stepho commented lmao thought his positional play was top notch.... Could have had a try had ferres not missed him out for jones, he'd come bombing through for ball. Thought you at least deserved a point last night. Coached me at college last year too

| Wainwright is solid and honest and any Cas fan who wouldnt make him one of the first names on the teamsheet isnt giving him the credit he deserved.
As for James Ford, I thought on an awful night to be a full back he did most things really well. He just surrenders in the tackle all the time. He need to learn sometimes he could break the line so to pick and chose when he surrenders.
Both did really well on Friday

To be fair, he did the right thing in those conditions, strugging to gain the extra yard or burst the tackle would have resulted in lost ball.
